Here are the details on the First Aid & CPR training. Dates are February 12th and 13th. On Saturday the 12th, starting at 3pm in the afternoon I will start the CPR training. Sorry it can't be eariler but I have a class that does not get out until 2 pm. I would like to go until 6 pm, we can go later if that is the concenus of tlhe group. Sunday the 13th will be the CPR exam and the First Aid Training.

I will provide the manikins and other training aids. This is the AHA version (American Heart Association - Professional Rescuer). It will include Adult through infant CPR and AED use. Cards will be issued (yes there is a test). I'm happy to do this for the cost of the cards. Should be no more than $10 per person. Probably much less, we just switched who we purchased our cards from and I don't have an exact cost. I need to get a accurate count on the number of people who want the CPR training to arrange the correct number of cards and equipment. I would like to send out a short study guide prior to the begining of the class. This course will teach the most current version of CPR (there have been a lot of changes).

I'm asking people to ASVP by Monday February 2nd. Please include in your RSVP whether you are planning on taking only the CPR, only the First Aid or both.

The First Aid portion will cover treatment of injuries that can potentially kill the patient. We will cover the new thinking on bleeding control, treatment of shock, heat and cold related injuries, lighting and snake bite. I will have examples of all the latest militrary emergency medical equipment (that are appropriate). We will also discuss kit construction and legal issues surounding this topic. Last, we will cover some general comfort First Aid: would care, blister management, hydration, sun protect etc.

We discussed at the January meeting, that it might make the most sense if everyone chipped in $10 for drinks and lunch on Saturday. This will save a lot of time. If people arn't up for this another optiion is to bring your own food and drink. Please include in your ASVP how you want to deal with food.

The location is being worked out and as soon as I know I will post. If there is anything else you would like to see included or you need clarification on this post please feel free to message me.

Is the HAM license study still on the table?

My wife would also like to attend on Sunday, if that's OK.

Answers to the two posted questions:

(1) I anticipate finishilng between 4 and 4:30 on Sunday. We will not go beyond 4:30.

(2) I don't have any information on the HAM conponent. I hope it goes, but I'm not sure who is organizing that.

Still working on location, wiill post with that information when I get it.

All materiasls are in for the CPR and First Aid. I have examples of all the lastest military and civilian products - I'm very excited to share this information with the club.

What time are we starting on Sunday?

Location, location, location

The location in Rio Rancho is available. :princess: said it would be ok to use her office space. It is a mostly empty loft area that should fit 20 with no problem. There might be some tables and chairs available if needed, or we can just do chairs if we need the space. Cy if you need any more details for your AV needs let me know, Im sure we can get it set up. The address is 4041 Barbra Loop suite A Rio Rancho, NM 87124. Let me know Aj

Answers to the two questions just posted:

Start and Finish times: Saturday 3::00 to 6:00 pm and Sunday 9:00 to 4 or 4:30 pm.

The room sounds great. All we need are chairs. If providing those is a problem, I think people can bring there own, if they know in advance. I have all my own AV equipment. It would be great if there is a blank wall to use as a screen. One table for food would be nice. Trash cans would also be nice. I will be happy to remove the trash at the end of the training.

If the floor is hard (tile) people should plan on bring a foam pad to save their knees during the lab portion of the CPR class.

Cy -

I plan to attend both days and will be happy to chip in for food.

Evan

Bonfire - Thanks for helping out with the training site!

I will attend on Sunday only. I have to work on Saturday.

Thanks,
Vince

I'll be there Saturday with my wife, Linda.

The office is ours. There are 30 chairs and several tables. See you at 230-3pm Sat. Oh yeah: the floor is typical commercial carpet (no padding)
