Wouldn't an M-style trailer be overkill for 99% of what we would need a trailer for? Don't get me wrong, I love the old military trailers, but what are the odds of us towing this off-road? It seems to me that something simpler, in a 5x8 or 6x10 would be adequate for our needs. I know Northern tool sells 5x8's for around $600. You can even find some 6x10 enclosed for around $1000 on Craigslist. Not to mention, these might be easier to tow loaded with a tired F or 2F.

Saw this on Craigslist

True, but I have a $600 5x8 trailer and I wouldn't ever waste my time trying to build one up into anything. They are a piece of crap. A good solidly built 5x8 trailer with floors and sides will cost you over $1000 new. However I am sure something could be found cheaper.

We could buy a military trailer that will still be around when our Cruisers and club are still standing 25 years from now.

I wasn't implying we should buy a $1300 trailer, just showing an awesome option. Just those tires alone are worth $400.

Hell, let's just build our own. This is about the cheapest start you could get. The frame is a lot heavier duty than the complete ones with a mesh floor and rear gate.

FREE SHIPPING — Northern Industrial 5ft. x 8ft. Heavy-Duty Trailer with 5.30-12in. Tires | Trailers | Northern Tool + Equipment

However we could probably buy an axle and springs and build one for less.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

I know where I am going for my track bar tube.:grinpimp:

That is awesome, we can build a tube frame trailer. That would look sick.

Seriously though, I need to buy a stick of tube that would be suitable for a track bar and a crossmember to mount it on.

I definitely have a FJ40 fiberglass top to donate to the project...

Well it looks like we have the tube frame, top, and SS skins. We could get the axle and spring set for around $350 and get 6x5.5 hubs and get a set of drum brake 40 wheels from somebody. Fenders and lights will probably run another $80.
