Hey, so I now own an 80 Collector's Edition and I would love to buy some new emblems and badges to replace what may be the original "Black Pearl" pieces that look a bit weathered and tarnished. Does anyone know where the heck I can find some? Or is my only option spraying some new silver or gold ones with some black chrome spraypaint?

I was about to say I saw them on cruiserparts.com. But I checked and don't see the emblem on there anymore

I assume they are obsolete. I've been on a bunch of Toyota OEM websites searching their databases and all I've ever seen is the Silver or Gold emblems and badges.

Can't you just take your emblems and get them electroplated in black. It's like when they take your silver ones and electroplate them gold.
Just a thought

Hmmm, I have no idea. I don't know anything about that process. Are they the proper metal for that? I know the "Full Time 4WD" badge is plastic, plus the wide "Toyota Land Cruiser" badge is plastic.

I emailed the folks at CruiserParts.net and they said that the parts are out of production and that we are all SOL. However, I've Googled "Black Chrome Emblem" and "Black Chrome Spraypaint" and it doesn't look difficult to reproduce that look on silver or gold ones. Painting the "Bean in Hat" Toyota emblems and even the "All Time 4WD" badges. The tough one however, would be the long Toyota Land Cruiser badge across the tailgate that's encased in plastic. How the heck do you paint that?

Let us know how that goes.

Anyone know where to source the fender and tailgate "Collectors Edition" badge? Thanks.

I got a tailgate one from Dan in one of my recent boxes of stuff.

The tailgate resin badge w/ Toyota Land Cruiser in it (didn't ask about others) - plan to respray my gate & fix the rust/seal that always stains paint.
I know I thought it was a few $$ too much (like always), but I got it w/o issue & planned to weld in the holes for the sombrero/bean one.

I saw a week or two ago that someone made a billet aluminum Land a Cruiser emblem to replace the long one on the hatch. Do a search for it. You could get that one and paint it or anodize it.

Cool. I wonder what the small collector edition part #'s are?

I remember 10+ years ago when I first bought my cruiser and had little money for mods, but soon bought an ARB and some 305/70/16 mud tires....spector offroad listed these "black chrome" emblems [mine has the gold, which I really don't care for] but I never could come off the cash, now I sure wish I had....sigh hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20

I have a 1997 Land Crusier that has a black and gold name plate on it that is chipped and needs to be refurbished. I have been looking for a replacement one also with no luck. Does anybody know of something I could try to make my existing name plate look better.

I thought that both the silver and gold ones were still available. They were the last time I looked, maybe 2 or 3 years ago. I always thought that removing it, cleaning it up really well with alcohol and laying it face down on a paper towel or paper plate with a thin layer of gold paint would work or maybe just applying fresh gold paint with a brush would work. Or using a hard rubber ink roller to apply it would work but I haven't done it.

Following this thread for any solutions!!!

I have a collector edition I am parting if you are ok with used.
