I think 8/87(or 10/87) was the 1st month of production of the fj62. all 1990 fj62 were made in 1989 as well. very common for a model year to me made in the last few months of the year before.

My wife drives an '88 FJ62 and we're running 31x10.50 BFG A/T ko's. The tires look VERY good on there.

I would go with the 10.5's over the 9.5's. Just my opinion, they fit on the rims nicely and the lateral stability is a bit better.

Jody.

Thanks for the feedback, I've heard that from others...I'll go with the 10.50's.

automobile model yrs "normally" start around sept or oct, although in 1999 i remember seeing 2000 models in june.

my 87/60 has a 10/86 production date.

AFAIK 10/87 was the first and I got one. Until early 88 the pwr windows, mirrors and locks were options but standard soon into 88.

Come by the shop; I can show you most options on 60 series tire size. With an OME kit 31/10.50 is a bit small. Look into 3/10.50

To hell with it---- go with 35"s!

I'll be by next week. I've been trying to get over all week but work is slowin' me down. The manufactured date on mine is actually 9/87.

8/87 1st month of the 3fe/fj62.

I checked on SPR, looked up a 3fe head.

35's rub with OME on an FJ62. KLF just checked recently with BFG MT's - it was easy to make them rub. 34x10.50 Swamper LTB's fit OK (with OME 2.5" suspension)
