Hope you guys are all doing great and family's are well. Thought of keeping my ritual going - "Thats me visiting here (ONCE A YEAR) with some pictures". Also I accept being slower then a turtle when it comes to working on cruiser.

So here we go finally 74.5 - F155 is in and it's now officially a land cruiser. "Feeling so much better after getting rid of that Chevy"

Hi Archie, Looks good, did you figure out the throttle yet? How's it run?

All the old farts have problems with the new forum...............triple posts is a new one though.

Not yet Jim, still figuring out how the linkage will work? Linking throttle cable would be easy but real problem is linking the accelerator? As you can see I still got very early stock pedal on firewall and then I guess carb is set for later style cable...!!! Hopefully someone can guide here.

My old chevy carb was connected through a cable, literally tied up to the pedal bracket LOL, but ran fine.

By the way your new avatar is really cool and looks timeless.

Hi Archie nice to hear from you. If your running a stock carb for a 74 it would have been linkage not cable. If I manage to get up north this weekend I should be able to get you some picture of the 68-73 models cable setups. and a 76 that should the same or close to 74 linkage. Not sure what I all have but they all work.

Speak for yourself. I not having any problems with the new forum than old forum. Never figured that one out either.:bang:
I believe the triple post is hit post reply and it doesn't show up so hit it again and again. I see lines on the upper right like it's thinking about posting. First I saw it I did hit the post reply a few times. But deleted the extra posts. Guess if I hadn't I could help my post count.:hmm:

Dean and Archie show in the same day. All we need is John P the third (new flash there never really was a 2nd and I've never been first in anything), Phil and Mike to show up. Doubt we would see Steve, believe he took the money and ran. Am I missing anyone else?

My old 74 had linkage ... Different year carb? I don't know if they can interchange from a cable to linkage ... I kinda think it would

We'll look into it... When you post up again next year we will have it ready for ya :)

Kidding :)

Love the 1.5F 74... Still old school ... But so modern at the same time lol

Any exterior/interior work... Been a long time ... I am having difficulty remembering ... You will need to post more ... Soon :)

Thanks John and Johnny for remembering me, I will try to be a little more regular for sure now. its a stock carb, however as Johnny pointed out, not sure if correct for the year. Person I bought the motor off himself was into trying different stuff. He ended up putting a 3fe motor into his 74 cruiser. Luckily he didn't modify this motor much other then replacing exhaust manifold to a header set up and surely carb is a question mark now. Hopefully we will figure out the linkage.

Haven't done anything on interior and nothing much on exterior either other then welding some sheet metal to inner left front guard to get back to stock look. PO cut some off in order to mount a non stock steering gear box. And yes also replaced all 5 tyres to brand new Dunlop Road Grippers same size as 7.50 X 16.

Next is to sort out Soft Top, problem is I am missing door channels, goes around the window to windshield "upper and side" on both sides. Not sure how to tackle that?

On a lighter note, triple and double posts are getting common now.

If you look at the top of the carb there should be some number/letters ... This will tell us the date of the carb... Possibly helping to find a way to convert to linkage

It will say something like 4k21 (1974/November/21st)

I am not so technical savy on the oem carb stuff ... i do think a carb expert such as @FJ40Jim or guys who may the parts or knowledge about making it possibly work such @65swb45 , @whitey45 or @treerootCO might be able to help

you have an FJ25 throttle linkage truck with a 78/79 cable carb that you want to convert the carb to linkage... is it possible? can parts swap over? or is do you need a linkage carb from an fj40 that will work with the linkage from an fj25? is that possible?
