After months of lurking and hours of reading you all convinced me to jump into the realm of ownership. I have been a jeep man most of my life but with three small children who do not travel light we outgrew our wrangler unlimited. I have been looking for a while but in Kentucky it seems there is not a lot to choose from. I finally found a Cadillac dealer that had a 1998 lx470 with 160k for $14k. Just so happens I have a connection at the dealership so I ended up paying only $11k. The interior is spotless and looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. The blower motor squeaks and the up down portion of the telescoping steering wheel does not work. I checked all service records and the vehicle was purchased locally by one owner and all scheduled maintenance is up to date. The ahc system has been disabled and a shock/spring setup was installed by the Lexus dealership. The rake of the vehicle seems extreme with the front being really low. I will post up some photos later today. I plan on using the vehicle as my dd, very low miles, and expedition type family camping. I currently have a 1969 pioneer tool trailer that I tow loaded with camping gear. That trailer is a work in progress. How do you guys think I did? Anything I need to check on it right away? Thanks for all of the awesome posts on here. I would have never been able to make an informed purchase decision without the posts from this forum.

Congrats to you!! Welcome.

I agree. You seem to be sittin' pretty stinky. I recommend a 30mm socket, breaker bar, lube, and jack stands. I know every truck is different, but MY experience says 1 full turn = ~1/4"

You got a good lookin' set of wheels, sir

You weren't kidding...that front is looow. Nice ride btw. Welcome

The trailer is called a pioneer tool trailer from 1969. I don't remember the model number, maybe m-119? I was reading on the forum here and don't want to put too much stress on the thinner lx torsion bars. Is there a torque setting or something that I should not go past on the Tbars? Like I said, I am totally new to the Lc/Lx world. I was going to get a hitch for the trailer but might just ho ahead and get an arb or slee rear bumper with integrated hitch. Are those the only choices for rear bumpers?

Nice truck and congrats.....did it come with rear diff locks?
