For over 10 years been looking for a Haberle cold saw in good condition. Finally found one just a day after retiring so bought it as a present to myself. Here's a pic. Just got the garage wired for 220 v. over the weekend and rec'd the phase converter Monday and got it wired in yesterday. Awesome cuts; very precise. Just have to get dialed in on which blade to use for the material and thickness. Found it chirps and struggles if I use a fine tooth blade on thick material, even mild steel. No more excuses not to be working on the Cruiser project!

(The second pic is my other retirement present to myself. They're under the same roof so thought it was only fitting to include it.)

That wont work real well in the snow Vic, and the way I understand it, you just changed jobs...........different parts of the same room.

You're right, Rob. Temporarily retired would be correct. And the observation about snow is why I moved out of Forest Falls.
Hope you're doing well.

Love the cold saw, been looking on Craigslist but I have a nice bandsaw now with cooling pump and such. Cold saw is the ultimate though.

Those saws are the schiznit, congrats...

Nice saw and nice 993. It'd be rough for me to decide whether or not to work on the Cruiser or go for a ride.

Silly question

Sorry to sound like a noob (I say that a lot lately), but what is a cold saw What makes it so cool?

I love the workshop. So jelious. If I had more space, I could have more hobbies....

Slow speed metal cutting saw, no abrasive blade, rather a carbide blade with cooling fluid, no head in the cut and VERY clean. They are pretty expensive, but worth it for production quality work.
