Stock?

I love gals with Cruisers :)

nice looking 62!

Factory gray reflecting all of the greenery surrounding the truck? I've seen the wife's gray truck pick up green like that.

yep, no 60/2 came to the US in green , in SA the 60 came in my 82 fj40 John Deere green.......

Nice 62 :)

Thanks, y'all!

That was the first trip I took it on -- a lil birthday camping. Nothing like an ice cold glass of chard in the hammock after a canyon hike all morning.

BINGO! We have the correct answer. It is indeed grey -- close to factory. The PO had it repainted to match, but he thought it wasn't quite exact. I thought it looked like a pretty good match.

It was nearly dark when I took the picture, so I had to lighten it a bit and up the saturation a touch. So the tweaking probably did enhance the green tone that the paint was picking up from the lush surroundings.

Yes.

The PO didn't do much of anything except add an alarm (w/remote ignition .. woooOoOoOo) and take off the skid plate  . All I've added is a stereo, and I haven't changed anything yet. Probably once all the vital maintenance stuff is done, I'll do tires.

I like it. Is it new to you? Tell us more.

Yep. I got it at the beginning of August I think -- maybe the end of July. It's an 89 with 141K on it. I had wanted a 60 for the longest time - I prefer manual trans. But the 62 was a really good deal I could not pass up. The auto trans is growing on me.

Seems to be a pretty good ride so far. 'Cept for a few minor things ... needs a new air intake hose and a brake job. Some "convenience and cosmetic" things too, like those rear window lifters, an AC service, and that panel that covers the fuses. *Eventually* I'll get to the vanity items.

Well, OK I'm getting some of those ahead of schedule. :D

I was going to say that it's begging for bigger tires, but didn't want my first post to sound like I didn't like it.

Glad you feel the same way.

Slap some 33's on there, or at least 31's. But, if I had a choice- I'd get the 33x9.5's. (BFG AT's)

Second that, get the 33x9.5. I've got 31x10.5's and the 33's are going to be the replacement.

Cheers,
Cahil

What happened to the 39's with the metal studs you were talking about? :D

Yeah it's a total grocery getter right now -- which is *OK* I don't plan on doing any major rock crawling, just rambling to some of those harder to reach trail heads. It just looks kinda stubby with those wee lil tires. Don't wanna jack it up too high though. I'm only 5' 2" and have to hop up as it is.

Saturday, I took it to the river on to do a lil swimming, rock basking, and rope swinging. When we got back to the parking area, some dope's Subaru was parked right behind me.

It took a little while for me to realize that I could just go over the "retaining" rocks in front of me. Sometimes I'm still in the Honda (which I just sold on Friday!) mentality I guess. :o

GS,
The only skid plate on an FJ62 is the little bitty one under the transfer case unlike the belly pan on a 60 series. Go with the 33x10.50s is my tire suggestion. Will work with stock suspension on stock wheels just fine.

I'll put the 33s on my (extensive) wish list

I thought it looked kinda wee. The PO gave it to me. It's just not attached. Didn't look like it's entirely worth putting back on.

And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who names vehicles. My LC has been christened "Stella."

STELLLLLLLLLLLLA!

Cool rig! We all have the extensive wish list.

I have to agree with LPs comment regarding gals with Cruisers. Great combination!
