fender question for fj40

i am restoring a 74 fj40. i must replace the fenders, are the models from pre or post years the same size and will they work. any help would be appreciated...

I would go to Toyota and order brand new fenders...they were $365 each brand new five years ago...

Why buy OEM? Very simple: THEY FIT!!!

what i am trying to say though is i found original 72 fenders and i am wondering if they would be the same size as for a 74.

Probably work just as well as the new Toyota ones. The news are make for the later years. All OEMs should all work. They just have different holes and brackets over the years to mount different things. The FJ25s had two different fender mounting systems but the FJ40 were the same. The later years just had slotted holes on the bottom that bolted to the frame to install them easier.
