Fender marker removal advice (1 Viewer)

Can anyone offer any insight into how to remove an early marker from the fender without destroying the spacer. currently soaking in PB. Going to try a wire wheel and some heat this week. Any other advice, or a trick im missing?

Wire brush the threads to clean them as good as possible, spray with lubricant of choice. If you get it to break loose initially, run it down as long as it feels okay. If it starts to tighten up, run it back up, spray some more, brush some more, then run it back down. Take your time. If there’s a particularly bad spot in the threads, you might try running a die up it to clean the threads. Couldn’t tell you what die at the moment, but could probably find out .
