Wanted to buy from him originally but I missed the group buy. Now it looks like we won't get our money back in time to jump on this one! Grrrrr... Guess I should have been patient and waited.

Besides the group buys he offers 15% for Mud folks regardless of when you buy, coupon code is IH8MUD15 or something like that.
 
Hey guys, I'm a moderator over on t4r.org. I am trying to get in touch with Troy but am doubtful I'll get anything. I also called the office of his day job and got his secretary. She said that he is out of the country for business and will be back in the office on Monday. I'll call his office back on Monday and either get in touch with him or his boss. One way or another I'll do everything I can to get some answers from him. In the meantime, I would cancel any orders you guys have with him because what he is doing is border lining fraudulent.
 
Update:

I got in touch with the Administrator of t4r.org and he e-mailed Troy and his wife. His wife replied to the admin's email with the following:

I actually emailed him and he's wife, and guess what, she replied:

This is Troy's wife, ********. Troy is currently out if the country on business, and I'm sure he'll reply to you personally but there may be a slight delay due to the time difference. I just wanted to let you know that after several issues with the shipping company we FINALLY received the lights this evening. If you could give me a list of the particularly frustrated members I will be sure to process & ship their orders with priority. I am taking care of everything on Troy's behalf until he returns in a few days and will be happy to help. Thank you for your patience.

I'll ask her for the best way to identify customers, maybe just their emails. Stay tuned.

As soon as I get more info I'll post it up and keep you guys up to date as well as other forums.

All he had to do was keep people informed about the shipping and give us realistic promises. I don't know how he can do international shipping and not understand the timeframe. After importing an engine from Japan, it was clear to me that international importing is not easy.

Troy - if you read this. I still want my refund. You didn't deliver as promised.

Special thanks to several mods/Admin from from TW and T4R for all their assistance...I honestly feel we wouldn't be any further ahead without their intervention, and it was greatly appreciated.

What number lie or we on today?

This makes no sense at all. The email from Troy's wife states that the shipment just arrived but Troy posted here showing all the boxes of lights. Was that the damaged pallet of lights then?

I just want my lights and to be done with this whole thing.

I too would like to thank the folks who worked to track down some info from troys wife. my question is does anybody know if there is any legal recourse we could pursue if we dont get our products? I still want my lights very much, BUT if we dont get them, or the delays keep coming.... is there anything we can do? wouldn't it be fraud of some sort? taking money and not delivering?:meh:

Everybody will get there money back relatively easy if paid through PayPal via product purchase (not gift). If paid through him via CC then your recourse would be the bank of how you charged.

I personally don't think it's worth legal recourse unless we're not getting refunded. He should be held accountable, but I'm pretty sure this thing will shut him down.

It would be nice to hear from Troy or his wife IN THIS FORUM. Instead of getting info from other forums. Just tell us what's up. If it's gonna be another month waiting on product to arrive TELL US!
 
I agree completely, they aren't posting on other forums either. I figured I can at least try and post info here for you guys.
 
I wasn't bit chin about you SVdude, just venting in general. I do thank you for giving us the info from other forums.
 
It's all good seth, I would be very frustrated if I were in your shoes! I bought some lights from Troy too but that was before his group buy. I got my lights a long time ago but to this day I don't tell anyone who I got my lights from. I will never speak a good work about treklights again. He has failed in every way in this business.

I didnt and dont want my money back. I want confidence I'm not getting ripped off.

I'd like to know I'm not getting ripped off too and I'd prefer not to have to track down a refund. ;) I'm pretty bummed that this happen on my first group buy on my favorite forum. I know for me at least it's probably going to leave a bad taste in my month for all group buys unless I know the person.

For what's it worth, I ordered two sets of lights from Troy, and had a hard deadline to get them because Mike Smith was building me a bumper and I needed them for exact fitment. About amonth ago, Mike realized one set wasn't going to fit, and the other would be borderline, so for two weeks I begged Troy to tell me when these lights would be here. It took two weeks for him to respond, but when he did he said that he'd cancel the one set of lights, and that he had a set of the lights I had ordered on hand, so he'd ship them to Mike. He shipped them, Fed Ex F'ed up and returned them to Troy 3 days later. Troy then paid overnight shipping to get them to Mike via USPS. I thought that was a very stand up thing for Troy to do for me. I've since sent him two emails reminding him gently that he still owes me a refund for the set that I cancelled. I'm still waiting for that refund.
