Cruiser head coming to Phoenix in Februrary. Just had this forwarded to me:

Hello, My husband and I are going to be traveling to Arizona Feb 19th.
He has a 1974 FJ40 it is the love of his life, unfortunately he doesn't get to see or talk to many people that have the same interest, especially living in Massachusetts! Anyway I was wondering if you have a store front that he could come in and look for parts or if there are any places to maybe even rent old land cruisers for a day while we are out there? I don't know if you have any info on any of this? But if you do could you please email me with this. I would like to do something special for him for his birthday while we are out there..
Thank you
erin

How about we throw a little something together for them while they're in town. I will contact Erin today to find out their exact plans while they are in town to see what works best for them.

This might work out just fine. That is a great run with beautiful views for visitors. They can get a picture of what Arizona is really like. There's also some moderate crawling to be had out there if they feel up to a little adventure.

That is of course unless you guys are planning special alone time ;)

and so, we're special.

Agreed, short bus? :D

The 19th is booked for me, but the 20th is a go.

19th is good for me the 20th is no go

yes this sounds like a great idea,,, as rush mentioned we will be out with ALOT of other guys doing manly things. shooting, wheeling, my campfire ;).

we will have grub and all sorts of things going on, lets bring them out there and show them AZ hospitality and insane scenery !!!!

What's the scoop on your run? We don't want to encroach but the Martinez run at least back to the shed is some beautiful country. I think it would be a hit. Once I get the scopp from Erin on their travel plans I'll let yall in on 'em right away.

We're just mostly out there to camp and screw around with fire. Running the trails comes into play when everyone get around to it. We're at least gonna do the Martinez loop and Coke ovens trail this time.

Cool. Seems like this will be a perfect intro for them.

Looks like the 20th should be a go. Martinez cabins and back to the shed for sure with maybe a trip around the rest of the loop. We'll decide when we get there. Who's in? Meeting at the Gas station at Tomahawk road north of the US 60 at 8:30 am Sunday the 20th of Feb. This is a stocker friendly run with the second half leaning towards slightly modified. Sliders are suggested for the 2nd half and the loop.

So much for being a go. Just got an email that their plans have changed. This day will still be a wheelin day but the destination may change. Let me know what you guys might want to do.

doesnt matter the destination, me and rush (and others) will be in the area all w/e.

hey BMAN you thought wheelin with a cruiser wagon was cool, wait till you skope out my good friend putting his suburban through some places.

well I'm out if it is on the 20th got to work

where are you going to be on the 19th and 20th

I will get ahold of you next week maybe we can meet up on the 19th

Unfortunately I will be at a my Grandmothers memorial service on Saturday and Sunday is now reserved for getting things done around the house that didn't get done this past weekend while I was in Cottonwood at the hospital with here during here last few days. I am still planning a run in the back door on Sunday sometime but there will be no wheeling involved. It will be a very quick run back to the river to make sure I've got the trail nailed down and to check the water level for the crossing on the 5th.
