Ya got it? Very cool.
Its not in my hands yet but a super honest young lad not knowing the value. I sent him a cover plate so he can take the PTO off. He says he'll meet me at horseshoe bay in the coming week. Fingers crossed as I mailed him the cover plate.

The Pto will go onto the Bandeirante.

Does a pto need this extra gear for transfer case, Top left of picture?

Yes??

Transfer cases either have a spacer or a gear to drive the PTO. The case in my truck has a gear from when I had it rebuilt. I can't remember if it was from my original case or for the newer core for replacement.

Dammit! I better not have a gear rusting away outside. Murphy’s law. Dammit.

Yeah, I vaguely recall reading into this before. Some Toyota cases have the gear already and some not. I believe split case in my 70 series has it.

A lot of them do have the gear already. Most I've seen actually.

If not I'm sure I have one you can have for a 6 pack we'll split during the bullshitting 🤣

I removed the one in my 60 to put one of the extra long splined input gears in. So I should have at least one.

It's also possible to swap the gear box to be rear output if you're so inclined. I did that in hopes of using it to power a compressor. Haven't quite got there yet...

Yes, some have a spacer, that's why Ryan and I bought that gear with the extended shaft when we rebuilt our cases
to get rid of that spacer. Can't remember what that gear is nicknamed. I think that front gear is the one that turns the
drive gear in the PTO?

Oldest cruiser I’ve ever seen for sale. Pretty cool!!!

I’m up in CR checking out the cruiser. Might buy it. Fml

Going to go buy it tomorrow at 4.

Fml I have a problem. The best condition tub I’ve ever seen. It came from California 35 years ago and hasn’t been on the road since 1992.

A serious relic. 3 on the tree. 1f engine. Some bubbling but the rear fenders are 100%. Rear sill is 99%.

Door skins are the worst part but they are flat 16 gauge. So easily replaced. I’m pumped.

Anyone have a rear hatch they’re hiding?

That's cool. I've seen a blue one around that had the bifold rear that rolled up, but that's it for old ones.

That really does look like a homemade top...a proper fst would be slick.

I have a couple… one currently on my truck and a second that’s I’m planning on replacing it with. To be honest, I’ll need to compare the two and decide which I’ll run.

The one I’m currently using is decent and only has a few small rust holes on the inside of the lower edge.

Yes, its a home made top. Pretty ugly but well built. Its rivetted onto the original soft top ribs. I have a buddy with an ambulance door hard top but baggers can't be choosers. There is a besttop-softtop that comes with it but Im sure it wont fit???

I will 100% buy that hatch off of you Mr. Smurf.

Also, does anyone have transmission inspection plate for a 3 speed or a spare unicorn they want to sell? Skid plate???

More pictures to come soon in the next 24 hours.

Drove to CR and buddy never transferred into his name and the forms were dated to 2021. You only have 10 days to register the sale of the vehicle. He lost the contact of the previous seller. So I came home empty handed.

I've also got a header bar for over the hatch. Check out the Hardtop thread below for details about the difference between different hardtop years.

What are you planning to do with the original soft top ribs? I've also got a couple spare hardtop sides that are decent. They have a bit of rust but they are definately repairable.

I just noticed this from early this morning...
***sale fell through— still available

Is he getting the info for you? or is this info out of date?

So an ICBC transfer form was never created? If it was imported but not transferred ICBC has a form you fill out, get this
guy to sign and it's yours. I did the same with a 1954 F100 I brought up from Texas, mind you the guy had my name.
Bummer man, feel for you.

It has a BC license plate on it with a 1992 decal on it. If the transfer paperwork has his name on it then there’s a half decent chance of finding the legal owner.

I was looking it up…

Using plates from your old vehicle

You can drive your "new" vehicle using the licence plates from your old one for 10 days from the date of purchase if all of these conditions are met:

  • The vehicle you're switching plates to is registered in B.C. (or was purchased from a licensed B.C. auto dealer).
  • You have sold or otherwise disposed of your old vehicle.
  • Both vehicles are the same type (for example, passenger vehicles).
  • The licence plates are valid B.C. plates.
If any of these conditions are not met, contact an Autoplan broker to find out how to properly license your vehicle.

During those 10 days, you must carry in your new vehicle

  • the signed Transfer/Tax Form for your new vehicle,
  • the original registration from the seller (or, for a new vehicle, the signed and dated bill of sale from a dealer),
  • the insurance papers for your old vehicle (the insurance must still be valid), and
  • proof, such as the "seller's" copy of the Transfer/Tax Form, that you sold your old vehicle.

Nowhere in the pages does it indicate that the transfer papers must be filed within 10 days.

Regarding the same issue it recommends the seller:

To complete the transfer, take the registration and Transfer/Tax Form to an Autoplan broker. We strongly recommend going together with the buyer to ensure that the registration transfer is processed in a timely manner and that your name and any insurance and licence products are removed from the vehicle registration record. This is important in avoiding any possible liability claims associated with the future operation of the vehicle by the purchaser. If you cannot visit the Autoplan broker with the buyer, keep a copy (with original signatures from both you and the buyer) for your records.

I believe the ten day limitation is how long you can drive your new vehicle with plates from one you have just sold. That said, I wouldn’t pay the seller until ICBC has completed the transfer… in case the PO decides he wants $7500 rather than the $1500 he sold it for 30 years ago.

Well he texted me and said the title is in his name now. Told me he'd knock another 500$ off the price but then just lowered the price to $6500. I might go buy it if it doesn't sell for a lower price. Sometimes you just have to listen to the universe.

Well, the universe has provided you with a couple of weird trucks that made you a s***load of money - keep listening would be my suggestion.
