Great write up Cam! Thanks for sharing and for everyone chiming in. It's only been a few weeks since we returned and reading this thread reminded me of the smaller nuances and details that are so often forgotten. I learned a lot about 'life on the trail', from seeing first hand what our vehicles are truly capable of to building an 8 foot tall fire in 9 seconds. As the pictures and videos on this thread have shown, the scenery was indeed epic. It was surpassed however by the fellowship that is the Land Cruiser fraternity. I am very thankful to have been invited on this trip and hopefully am lucky enough to attend the next one. Thanks again guys.

I have to comment on the hats and long sleeve shirts. The really white guys on this trip, ALWAYS were covered up. Cam (and I) wore the same shirt basically every day of the trip. Also broad brim hats. Every day. Every part of every day. Onur, on the other hand, drives his 70 series naked, and never gets sun burned. It isn't fair. Those were some seriously stinky and sunburned guys in that slot canyon picture. I'd been wearing the same shirt for 7 days. I think Cam had been wearing his since 2014.

Y'all I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread, it's become the one thread I check every day no matter what. I hope that someday I can experience this trip! It's also helping to build the anticipation for the ACT in just a few weeks!

We still need the @beno update. He still had 10 more days travelling around the desert after we all had to go back to normal. There are rumors of hairy chicks in Subarus, underage farm girls, and other free spirits.

So if I tag onto this thread, I am just letting everyone know that my story telling eloquence is no where near Cameron's.

My aphorisms are more blunt, my analogies more obtuse, and I remain more of an objective observer of events vs a more auto-ethnographical story teller that Cameron presented.

That said, I like more of a "let the pictures do the talking" type of narrative approach; I will merely interject to provide narrative direction and context.

So it remains that a context should be provided of my ten days or so after I split off from the main group and the story above.

This graphic provides the most simple definition and presentation of that context:

Wait, that's all?!?! One picture of a road sign and we're all suppose to divine the existential purpose to the next 10 days of your life? I mean I get a picture is worth 10K words and all that, but I'm currently not under the influence of any drugs and I'm having a hard time getting into your mind from just that one picture.
