Does anyone have any experience with Faulkin Rocky Mountains on their hundy? I have some friends that run them and love them but I'm a little leery of the Faulkin name as I've heard some bad things about them falling apart in the past. :hhmm:

They do have a 3 ply sidewall like the bfg's and supposedly the rocky mountains are just re badged wild peaks.

I did read a couple of off road reviews that were great but I would prefer some feedback from a mud member for confidence.

Thanks.

Falken Rocky Mountain ATS are sold exclusively by Discount Tire, but are the same tread pattern as the Wild Peak AT. The lettering on the sidewall is the only difference.

I was considering them, but wanted something more aggressive. They do get good reviews but so far I am not aware of anyone running them on a 100.

Nothing to me is more important than tires. You couldn't give me these low-end name brands for free. No Nitto-brand crap either though it's a step up.

I will take the Nittos on a 100 over BFG KM2 anyday.
Most owners have had excellent results with Nittos.

I finally got the duratrac's last week, and couldn't be happier. My bro just bought KO's (another decent choice) but they can't hold a candle offroad to mine! Also, in the snow these things grab like I'm driving with chains!

I am getting ready for a new set of tires real soon as well... Was strongly considering the KM2's but I'm looking hard at all my alternatives... Who has had bad experience with KM2's? Maybe a new tire thread is in order...

I would take DT over KM-2's. I'm going this that route next.

I have no bad experiences. They are loud, rumble at low speed and wear pretty quick on a rig this heavy. I love mine, but honestly I don't think I'll be going back to a KM-2. I can say these will outperform any tire, you will see at uhwarrie in a couple weeks.

i have said it before, and will say it again. you have got to at least check out the Destination MT

I have also looked at the Destinations. I am not looking for something as aggressive as the km2. I always hear people talk about how cheap Faulkin tires are and "crappy" but I have still not seen any evidence of why. As previously mentioned, they have the same 3ply style sidewall as bfg and I have never heard any reports of them falling apart or chunking. Does anyone have any negative experience with Faulkin. Price alone does not make something good or not as marketing can influence this a great deal. I'm looking for hard evidence.

I have a Cooper MT 285/75/16 that i put on several years ago.. In fact if they are still on for the URE trip this year then this would be the 4th year they've been on the trails up down there... I can't really ask more out of these tires than i've gotten... They are pretty agressive and having them on for years I've forgotten what a quiet tire sounds like... I really noticed the advantage of a very agressive mud terrain at URE the first year as it rained alot and the trails were real muddy... It was super fun however!!! People were sliding all over the place and I was tearing shiznit up feeling like I had great control over the vehicle.... I posted some trail maps on the Uwharrie thread for those still interested in going next month...

I haven't been happy with my Nittos - maybe I have a bent wheel and/or other suspension problems, but I have had vibration and steering wheel shimmy despite all efforts to balance and otherwise correct.

I appreciate all the replies for other great tires.....however I am solely wondering about the Faulkin Rocky Mountain AT's. I have experience with cooper, BFG, goodyear and a ton of other tires.

Thanks...

Try searching "Falken" ;)

Terra or Trail Grapplers?
