I'm going to do the blue fan clutch mod on both 80's this week and had my wife pick up some diff fluid at the local hobby store. The stuff she got was 7000 CPS. What's the difference between CST and CPS?

Kinematic viscosity (which is measured in centiPoise) can be obtained by dividing the absolute viscosity (measured in centistokes) of a fluid with it's mass density. So centipoise and centistokes would only equal each other if the mass density is equal to 1. The chart referenced by thx138 has a footnote on the bottom that says "The viscosities are based on materials with a specific gravity of one (1)", which I believe implies water.

I'd dig a little more before assuming 7,000CPS of silicone fluid = 7000CST. The fan clutch mod is great - hope it works for you.

So is this confirmed? CST = CPS? I just picked up some 10000 cps silicone diff oil from a hobby shop and plan to do the fan clutch tomorrow. I just want to be sure I have the right stuff.
