Although the mud on my truck from TAC FN is still drying I thought we should start narrowing down a date for a Washita run. A few of you STL guys only had limited time for FN and WFD had mentioned wanting to plan a trip this fall. I believe the first weekend in Nov is the Toys for Tots run in Indiana so that wouldn't work. Whattya think?

Don't Know. My truck is long overdue for a major overhaul and I'm starting to experience failures on the trail because I've been neglecting things for too long. I'll just have to play it by ear to see if I could make any dates before New Years.

What failed this past weekend?

Even though it may not be as much fun, you could always ride along. A navigator would be great.

Well the stuff that broke this weekend wasn't due to neglect but it was due to me not upgrading it when I ws supposed to.
1 Rear driveshaft, right birfield, right spindle, right hub and lock. I had all the parts to fix and it only took an hour but as I increase tire size I need to compensate by upgrading the other parts to handle it.

I may be up for bitch duty, er um, navigator.

November 1st is the Toys for Tots run at Interlake Properties in Indiana about 39 miles into Indiana right off of I64.

With this event being as close to us as Farmington we may be able to do a run to Farminton also, maybe the week before or after. I am not quite sure when peak colors will be out.

I'll go if WFD promises a 'medium' trail run for people without sliders that ultimately requires 45 minutes of rock stacking in order for the heavily modded trucks to get through (and still get panel damage) before my big fat non-slidered, small-tire 80 goes through :grinpimp:

I'll admit though, WFD and I were last and zero damage for us (but only b/c we made everyone else stack rocks for 45 minutes in order to get their trucks through - so that we could make it).

I had a blast and I promise to have new tires AND sliders before the November Wa sh*ta run. I'll check my calendar for conflicts.

You can't control the erosion that takes place on the medium trails. I'm just glad there was no damage to either of us. It was fun though wasn't it??

Best fall colors usually are the 2nd and 3rd week of Oct. November may be a fallen leaves run. Possibly less leaves will aid in navigation???

Oh yeah, it was a blast. Having to stack rocks to save the bigger trucks almost made it more fun - I definitely creased my leather seats though.

Sounds like the best fall colors are right now - I guess I can break free this weekend (but I'll still have no sliders).

WFD called tonight and was freaking out and ready to go wheelin'. In fact, he was driving through his neighbor's yard yelling, "Yeah, I got your sliders right here."

I'm a little worried about him.

With that in mind, what do you guys think about a date?

Golly, how muddy did it get. It must have been covered. Did someone talk you into going through a mud pit, then turning going through AGAIN.

Let's go wheeling. I'm tired of webwheeling all of the time.

Your not my type big boy

Pick a day and I'll see if I can make it.

Dates

I'll throw out 3 dates prior to the Xmas Party Season.

Oct 25 (Fall Colors Run)

Nov. 8 (IH8 leaves on the Rocks Run)

Nov. 15 (Bare Trees Run)

It's that time of year where things get a little hectic. See what you all can do. Throw out some additional dates, or narrow it down and we will see if we can come to a consensus. For me, after turkey day weekend (which is also open, since I won't be driving to the in-laws) all hell breaks look.

I'm also will entertain the concept of hosting a Christmas Party at the Farm. With some shooting, hayride, etc...

Man, I gotta clear off my schedule - work is starting to get in the way of life.

I'm gone for Thanksgiving.

I'm trying to get the Oct 25th date cleared, but I currently have another obligation.

I know what you mean William. I made that decision a few years ago. What's the sense of making lots of $$$ if you can't enjoy it. I realize you have a large family but just give them a smaller piece of the pie after you kick the bucket. :grinpimp:

By the way, here is a link to some pics from Flatnasty. http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=48376.0

The 8th will work insted of the 25th, I was just hoping for the great fall colors.

It's all good on the trails though.

Running boards are off waiting on delivery of Sliders. 8th won't work for me but 9th is open.
