I found these OEM injectors advertised on Austrian Ebay, for around $280 USD after tax and shipping.

Knowing that new injectors usually cost far more, I figured either I got lucky or I would get an empty box. So here is what I have pictured below. What looks off to me is the print font on the part number, teh metal looks slightly pitted, and the plastic has the part number instead of the saying "Denso". 23250-74080.

Did I get scammed?

More googling shows that the number on the injector is the rebuilt part number, So looks like I have a set of rebuilt injectors.

They are getting good at making fake parts. Bought a OEM timing belt kit off eBay for my Tacoma. Looked legit, came with oil filter and also drain plug gasket. The gaskets wasn’t blue. The clue was the timing belt didn’t have the cam marks on them.

@Rwhat I inspect those kits hard, and the real ones are never the cheapest, but you can get some good deals. I wouldn't put a fake timing belt on or anything that hard to get to. Report them all and get your money back i say ha.

I was fortunate to get my money refunded. Lesson learned for being a cheap ass.

Hmm I wonder if I should trust that these are OEM REMANS since the label was fake to begin with or just run them...

If i wasn't doing OEM i think i would try the bosch 4hole that many people have tried on here long before i would put those in and run them long enough to not be able to send them back. You want to be OEM i am assuming, but if you aren't that concerned about OEM then I think the bosch are just a little more expensive

Yeah, no way would you be able to find new Toyota/Denso injectors for that price.

Original Toyota-Denso injectors have the Toyota part number embossed (in the plastic) on one side and DENSO on the other. The color of the plastic of the Chyna counterfeit injectors is wrong also (see photos added below)

The cheapest I've seen in the US is $150 each. So absolute lowest price not counting shipping would be ballpark $900 US for all six, maybe a bit less from UAE.

Recently shipped a set OEM injectors off to WitchHunter for cleaning; they've apparently been getting some junk Chyna counterfeit injectors sent in.

Copied from WitchHunters web site:

"We are starting to see quite a few Chinese made injectors that are junk, most have the factory part number and not the correct logo. Be careful when purchasing so-called, new injectors for a very low cost."

Edit: photos added of original (used) Toyota-Denso FZJ80 injectors:

Bingo we have a winner. I knew the pricing was to good to be true but figured it was worth the gamble. Ebay case here we go!

Think I got duped - price too good to be true Ordered these on eBay. The part # on the box wasn't what pictured in the ad. The 23250-74080 isn't a Toyota part number as far as I can tell. Was looking for part #23209-74080. The 23209-74080 is what was pictured on the ad printed on the box. They look right except they don't have stamped on them Denso logo. I know some of the actual Denso injectors do have this 23250-74080 number molded in the plastic on the opposite side of the Denso logo. I think the Toyota box prints as Injector Assm Fuel not Fuel Injector in chinese looking font as mine is printed. What do you think - did I get taken?

Yupp same ones I had ordered. Chinese knock offs.

23250- is the updated prefix

The part number decal is definitely fake. That is not Toyota decal font.
Funny how these fakers miss the easy stuff.

23250-74080 doesn't look up on Toyota's parts listing. I checked a couple websites and called the dealer today. They think that is a Denso manufacturing number. 23250-74080 is the number cast in the side of the injector in the upper plastic part. Parts like 23250-74080 - https://parts.villagetoyota.com/productSearch.aspx?searchTerm=23250-74080

#23250 is the Toyota parts group. The listing for a 1FZ-FE only shows part #23209-74080 for the fuel injector. I don't know . . . . ?

This has become a common issue in the last few years. Lots of fake/replica fuel injectors for Japanese engines. I see it frequently with Subaru injectors. They are in OE-looking boxes but there will be some slight difference that is hard to discern. The injectors themselves will be missing some minor marking like a logo or a batch/test number.

One thing I noticed looking at the very first photo in this thread of the pink injector, you can see the poor manufacturing of the plastic mold, theres all kinds of extra bits and edges that shouldn't be there.

In my experience, the Japanese OE fuel injectors RARELY ever have issues. Its basically never an issue on Subarus for example. So if you just get some good looking used OE injectors, just do that. Usually zero reason to spend the extra money on new OE ones

None of this is new.

The fakers take advantage of most people's technical ignorance of the Toyota system and utilize low price to prey on the unsuspecting.

Pretty much par for the course in global parts these days. Be wary of a deal that sounds too good because it is. Toyota parts command a premium for a reason.

Or reasons. :)
