Hi guys,

I'm eyeing a '07 LX 470, 77k on the odo. Think it may be the special edition, it's onyx black ext. and seems to have all of the bells & whistles. Thing is frackin' gorgeous...

Asking $34k, you guys think that's a good price?

I know the salesman at the dealership personally, he said he'll give me a deal, I'm assuming that's going to 1 or max 2k off. So may be able to get it for $32k.

Also, he assures me that truck has been kept up meticulously well as it was owned by a wealthy semi-collector w/ 9 cars. Salesman is my good friend's dad, I tend to believe he's telling the truth on it.

What do you guys think?

A good deal is more than just a good price. Having a trusted sales person goes a long way towards peace of mind and happiness.

That being said - just based upon the numbers - this could be a pretty great deal for you regardless. $34k isnt a terrible price assuming the truck is extra clean and well-optioned. If you can get it for anything less, you will have done pretty well for yourself.

Hindsight says you might always be able to search harder and wait longer and you might save some extra money. However, all that is extra work/stress to save you maybe a few hundred dollars.

If it were me, I would pay a small premium to buy a car from someone I know and trust. Seems like you are going to luck-out and and get a small discount in addition to the good vibes of buying from someone you know.

Goodluck. Post pics when you have it.

That's a fair price... not the best deal in the world, but not the worst. Read this forum and check AHC, timing belt, brakes, AC, stereo (that one is expensive to fix), tires, etc.

Seems a bit high. But, I'm basing that on Land Cruisers - not LX470s. Do the LX470s still go for more$? If it were a Land Cruiser, I'd expect it to be more in the $27,500-29,000 range.

Wow, thanks for all of the replies guys, all wise words.

Just spoke to my guy at the dealership and he offered to take 4k off asking, making it 30k even for the truck.

Already gave him my pertinent info for the credit app, waiting for a reply now...fingers crossed!

Here's a pic...

Good looking truck. A good deal considering how much better it is when compared to some brand new cars that cost at least that much.

I have a 2004 LC with 150K miles and am looking for a 50K 2007 LC...the last year of the 100 series I believe. If you don't buy that PM me a contact. If it is as clean as stated @$30K that is a very good deal for a Lexus (Land Cruiser)...Tom R

P.S. JUst checked my Lexus dealer in Minneapolis...Black 2007...no CPO...103K miles...$31,900
FYI

So . . . if you end up buying it and post here on 'Mud, are you going to change your avatar name?

j/k had to ask.

Just went & picked it up from the dealership. Wow, just wow... I'm coming from a 98 T4R w/ 250k miles on it to this 07 LX w/ 77k... Wow, just wow... My life it good right now.

Thanks for all the helpful replies guys, I can tell that this forum is going to be a great resource for this new/proud LX owner.

Congrats - post some more pics! Love the '06-'07 LX wheels - want them for my '03 LC!

Nice. That's not a bad price. That car is not the special edition, for what it's worth. I bought the same car with 50k miles on it about 9 months ago. I changed out the suspension fluid, bought some BFG AT KOs on it, changed out the differential and transfer case fluids, and that's about it that I can think of other than oil changes. I paid 36k which at the time for low miles was about right.

Hey guys, I'm back to post some pics after having owned the car for about a month, I want to get out w/ my bro's rebel and get some amazing pictures but my lack of time these days is stifling so below are some cell quality pics.

Having owned the car for a month now I'm still in the 'honeymoon' phase and could not be happier (my fiance is really sick of hearing about it...)

I do think i got a decent price, seems like 30k range is standard for this truck/condition.

Haha, Cfbrenton1, you are certainly right this is definitely NOT the special edition.

I'm installing a vais sl3b this weekend, pretty excited about that.

Only real drawback for me so far is the mpgs, I live in the city and am always stop & go, sad i kno... made sadder by the 10-11 mpgs I get in the LX. Didn't buy it for mpgs tho!

I'm going to get out & take some good pics soon but in the meantime here are the ones from the dealer lot.

Man, I see people talking about all these good deals they pay for 100s. Except around here in STL they seem like pure gold and are priced so high compared to some of the price I see people talk about on here. A nice 03 just popped around here with 75k miles, but they want $25K for it. IDK, maybe I am way off, but they all seem like that to me around here. Even 80s are over 10k alot, regardless of condition.

I just bought an 07 LC with AHC, the rear wing : ) and 76k. Frnt bumper repaint but clean everywhere. All records. For $31,500

I search craiglists in other cities. Smaller towns, not large metros
