Factrory FJ40 p/s installation (1 Viewer)

I am installing factory p/s into my 12/79 FJ 40. Can anyone tell me where the cooling lines run? Are any photos available?

Also, I think I may need the lines from the pump to the box, are these still available?

It should go in the low pressure (return) side of the system. I have installed a cooler out of a Harley.

Hey Rick,

I'm thinking of doing the same thing on my 1/79 FJ-40. Does the new box bolt right in without any modifications?

Matt,

The factory box bolts right in, but you will want to swap your factory steering shaft for a p/s version - it is about 1.2" shorter.

Thanks John. I am still trying to figure our how the cooler lines rest on the frame, and apparently I am a couple of lines short, too. Hope I did not throw them away in the box they came in!!!

Thanks, Rick. There's not a whole lot of info online regarding this "modifaction". Probably because there's not a whole lot to it. But if you could give us (me) an update and include any useful hints/tips when you're finished, I'd appreciate it.
