It looks nice.

It's worth mentioning that the round road lamps look good in these concept pictures.

It's odd that nothing changed on the interior for a mid cycle refresh.

Oh well another mall cruiser. Plastic every where. No real protection front or back that wont lead to alot of money in repairs if hit at low mph. Inside does look very nice. 2 cents MIke

Everything's a mall cruiser these days.

I would cruise the local malls in one of these over a Chevy Fuglylanche or Honda Pilaf.

This is probably the US equivalent of the LX package. Might be an issue if anyone wanted to swap out these running boards with sliders. Notice it's one piece that forms into the lower body panel, the seam is up pretty high.

They may all be mall cruisers but do they have to be? Running boards will not make it the first time in the woods or on rutted roads. Toyota has lost its direction with the cruiser. They all ready have many mall cars. MIke

Not in all Cruisers .. that's why we still have the 7* series options ..

the 200 series isn't ment to be an expedition vehicle . It has very good ride comfort when travelling on and offroad .

It's pretty capable when modified ( bumpers , lift ) even stock with kdss the articulation is very good !

And most of all durability and reliability ! This is were the land cruiser really stands out .

It may have become much more civilized than its predecessors but it still has a few tricks up its sleeve .

Haven't some overseas LCs had integrated running boards for some time now?

Sadly, the days of Toyota selling FJ40s and 60s are over, particularly in the USA where we don't even get the 70 series. The 200 series sells for $60-80K new and people willing to spend that for a new LC don't want a FJ40 ride or FJ40 comfort. Toyota simply caters to the market on this one, just like Chevy did with the Yukon. Unfortunately, those of us who want Toyota to sell us a 70 series troopie or an uparmored, solid axle, diesel 200 are a pitiful minority in a over-regulated country. Sad indeed.

Nice looking Highlander :D

Jus' kidding.

So, I think that no matter how much we may bemoan the directions this Cruiser seems to be going in, I really think it's all just very thick lipstick on a pig.
Anyone willing to invest the time and effort to rid their 200 of the maller garbage hanging off it would probably be pleasantly surprised.

Ditch the running boards, a mild lift, some armour here and there, and I think it would be fine. I have doubts that it will ever be the equal of the 100, but it'll still blow everything in its class by The Big Three out of the water.

i know many people who swapped their 100s with 200s and would never go back !

Offroad it feels much more solid , articulation is very good .

In terms of being an expedition vehicle i think the 200 will overshadow the 100 once prices become cheaper on earlier '08s and '09s .

I totally agree with you , underneath its a beast .

Hey, if you know of folks who have made the 200 into the animal I know it has potential for. then I'm more than willing to take back my "not the equivalent of the 100" quip! :D

Wondering if the new front bumper shape will work with the ARB bar? The cut-outs the ARB requires around the lights don't look as though they will work well.

I hope the US version is less blingy. See lots of chrome and with the round fogs, now even harder to distinguish from other Toyota SUVs, especialy Highlander and SQ. Front end reminds me a ton of my Gen 1 2001 Sequoia, which is not a step forward IMO.

Im not diggin' the LEDs at the bottom of the headlights. Seems like everyone is doing this now. And the fact you can buy a kit from Autozone for your Caprice on 24s.
