so wiring up those hella lights was a fail now when i turn my head lights on the passenger side light barley even glows...any one know what i did and how to fix it:frown:

Verify your grounds.

:meh:

We're not clairvoyant, so we don't know what you did. Post up some kind of wiring diagram that you followed. You never answered whether you had a wire harness or not. If you are trying to tap into the vehicle headlight harness as the source to power the driving lights, you may not only be disappointed, you may ruin something. The Toyota headlight harness is inadequate for the stock headlights, and certainly won't power any high power additions. I don't remember reading whether you have an FJ60 or and FJ62 either.

I have an fj60 and yes the lights did come with a harness and a wire diagram did come with the kit i followed the diagram it came with and when i tapped into the lighting it blew the fuse it came and so i tapped into a different wire and not paying attention put a larger fuse in and when i flipped the hella lights on the light i tapped into just got dim and isnt working properly any more http://www.roversnorth.com/web/downloads/instructions/hella/hella-500-wiring-diagram.jpg and this is what i followed

okay ran the wires thru the fire wall hooked everything thing up yet theres still no light! what am i doing wrong :censor:

Ok Bozo! So you want to run the hella's with the High beams? with a switch? or both?

Mount a relay near the battery, Run a fused wire from the battery positive to the relay's terminal 30, now run a wire from terminal 87 to the positive lead on your Hella's. Now run the ground lead of the Hella's to the mount(with a star washer).

To turn on the lights, you'll need to trigger the relay, you'll need to run a Positive and negative to the relay terminals 85 and 86.

The head lights are always hot/live and use a negative/ground to light up the head lights.

So run 86 or 85 to a hot(you can loop it to the #30 from the battery +), now run the unused terminal(86 or 85) to the headlight trigger(or the switch in the cab)

One side of the switch to ground, the other to the relay.

The relay terminal 85 and 86 is a electric magnet, when given power they move a rod and connect terminal (close a switch)30 to 87.

Here's a pic of a relay I used for my Horns(same idea).;)

OK, you can still do what you wanted to do provided no wiring or switches have been damaged. The trick is to wire the relay coil the right way. But before you do what I'm about to tell you, you should disconnect everything that you have connected to your headlight wires and make sure your headlights work. Then proceed with the instructions below.

You will need to modify your Aux lighting harness so that the relay coil is wired special for your Landcruiser. When you turn the headlight switch on, 12 volts is supplied at the headlights to the Red/White wire on the left side and the Red/Black wire on the right side. Connect pin 86 of the relay in your Aux lighting harness to one of those two wires. Connect pin 85 to the Red/Yellow wire from either headlight. Neither pin 85 or pin 86 should be connected to any other vehicle ground point or 12 volt source. Pin 85 will be switched to ground through your Hi/Lo switch. If you have connected the rest of your Aux lighting harness to your battery like the diagram in your link shows, your new lights should come on with the high beams.

yeah i disconnected everything but my passenger side head light isnt working it just glows i switched the bulbs but it still doing the same thing
