I don't want to get flamed on the 40 board for asking such a routine question, but I can't seem to find the answer. I've got to install an oil filter adapter and this requires that I identify an IN and an OUT on the engine itself. The old filter had two lines - one coming from the center of the engine below the carb and the other was higher and closer to the firewall. The metal hose went from that center hole under the carb to the BOTTOM of the oil cannister. The line from closer to the firewall went into the side near the top of the cannister. Does anyone know which one has oil coming out of it and which is the return to the engine?? The engine isn't wired so I can't start it to see which one blows oil all over the place.
The OUT from the engine goes to the IN on the filter and the OUt on the filter goes to the IN on the engine - or at least that's what the directions say. Thanks,
William
