Loved your pix of Bryce! It's a beauty, ain't it?

Fins 'N Things gives you the true overall Moab experience without breaking the truck. It is my favorite so far.

Erik (vfer), Rick, and I ran the Metal Bender trail today.
It was an awesome trail, Rick will post the pic's in the morning.

Bryce is very cool. The drive from Bryce to moab along route 12 was filled with great sights too. Best road I have driven this whole trip.
Had a great time today! That was a great trail... easy stuff, hard stuff and great scenery. The grip is incredible. Couple of pics from the phone...

Moab has been a full time job but will post pics when I can as we leave in the AM for home.

we ran

fins -n-thongs
metal bender
hells revenge

the only obstacles avoided were escalator and hells gate in Hells revenge.

damage done

1 birf
1 u-joint
1 river raft

we did have to flush Jim's PS system to bring it back on line.

One hell of a trip and worth all the planning.

Hey guys thanks for all the updates. Sounds like an amazing time. Travel safe and look forward to some cold ones soon.

The pix are all very cool. Bring back a piece of the red rock if you can like I did. I remember a lot of the obstacles where you took pix on Fins N Things. The scenery there is beautiful.
The Lasalles were snow capped back in May.

The traction is very amazing, isn't it? It only comes down to your tolerance for off camber, going off the edge of a cliff or having the wheels well up in the air, doesn't it? Not having any moisture or mud is a big positive.

How hot has it been out here?

It is hot... so glad I flushed the cooling system and changed the fluid in the fan clutch. I have been running in 100 degree weather with the ac on and the water temp has been under 200 the whole time.
It didn't take too long to reach my gf's tolerance for steep slopes on hells revenge this morning. We had to leave Rick and Jim after one mile. She has never reacted like that before but we weren't going any further. I was a bit upset to say the least. We drove down to the canyonlands to cool off and I wanted to see newspaper rock. Drove back to moab and found some other easier trails and I got to play on metal masher a little which happened to be near by. Guess I will have to come back to try hells revenge again.

that was unfortunate Eric. We figured that her safety net of getting out and walking was negated once those climbs became so long.

If it's any consolation, I started to line up for tip over challenge and heard both Mike and Tom simultaneously scream Whoa, Whoa, Whoa! I thought something was wrong. Nope, they were just scrambling to get out of the truck!! :hillbilly:

We're leaving in about an hour and have a safe drive home.

It's one thing to miss a line and do a soft roll and quite another if you are on the edge of a 500-1000 foot cliff. I truly sympathize with anyone who has issues with scenarios like that.

I'm not a big fan of heights and almost baled out of going up Chicken Corners. Glad I went, but it was even scarier coming down with the driver's side on the drop off side and looking out over that vast panorama.

The Moab experience made me more confident in my rig and the ability to climb and descend the granite slabs we encounter here in NH. I'm sure you guys will feel the same way.

Have a safe trip home!
