The hook latch broke on mine. Bad casting and not using steel was a bad idea. I'm still trying to get them to sell me a new latch since they won't warranty it. My front bumper has also lost almost all of the powder coat and started to to get lots of rust on it some how. My roof rack however has no issues.

Wow that is crazy, I better check mine every so often. Can you explain more about what you were doing when it happened or anything that could be the reason for it breaking?

Would also be good to know why the won't warranty that. Or sell you a new one? Are they trying to sell you a whole new swing arm? No latch in stock?

Surprised that it's a casting. Should have been either water-jet or laser cut out of steel.

Update:
The bearings on my tire carrier swingarm on mine has failed after about 2 years, give or take.

EO sells a bearing rebuild kit but strangely leave out the race, which mine shows lots of pitting.

So I bought the part numbers they listed on their site from Amazon which included the race. The part numbers pointed me to timken bearings, made in USA. Not sure what the brand of the bearings I took off was, but they were made in China.

Not sure of the quality of the Chinese bearings but planning to replace them on both swingarms, and also switch to marine grease.

Open up the spindle cap and take a look from time to time if you've got one of these.

My MetalTech has the one swing arm with a 35" tire, 5 gal jerry, tool box and MaxTrax boards. I've had it on for over 5 years and never a problem with bearings.
My only issue was early on when the swing-out went out a little too fast and far and sheared the locking limit pin. I contacted MetalTech and sent me a new on. But no bearing issues (🤞).
