I'm getting ready to finish my exo on my FJ80 and wanted to know if putting some supporting /\ bars in the center of my front window is illegal. I still drive my 80 on the city/highway so would that be considered obstructing my view and something I could get a ticket for?

The cops have been very cool to me so far (2 years running like this with no tickets yet)

Thanks!

ive found that if they are going to give you a ticket, nothing is going to stop them.. if they realy want they can get you for modified suspendion, no mudflaps, non DOT tail lights, and a whole bunch of stuff i can think of. you have already crossed the line, just do it! Love your 80 bro!

Ask this question over on Pirate4x4 lots of guys run those bars.

you could do them Extreme 4x4 style and have two bent bars in an X pattern....)( like that to reduce actual obstruction.

Your truck is dominating...

You've set the bar for intensity of 80 series hardcore-ness to the bone Shawn...

11/9/2006 - My Cruiser FOR SALE!! $13,000 as is or $16,000 with crawler box
Yes you read it right. After 3 long years of building up my 80 and wheeling it like crazy I've decided to move on to the next level of rock crawling. Thanks to all who gave me advice and encouragement along the way. I can't believe how capable my 80 has become. It is the perfect trail rig and I'll definately miss it.

I absolutely love the sport of rock crawling and would love to some day compete in a race or two. I have learned so much over the past 5 years about the sport. Especially how to get a 6,000 lb monster through some of the obstacles I've encountered :)

In order to take the sport to the next level I've decided to sell my cruiser and get a competition moon buggy and try my luck in some rock races or crawl competitions. I wish I could keep my cruiser AND get a competition buggy but the wife says no way :)

So if you are looking for a great cruiser that has been tested trail tough on almost every trail in Colorado I've got one for you! I still have my crawler box sitting in my garage that I haven't even put in yet!!! doh! But I will throw in everything I have including the crawler and all my spare axels, parts, etc. See my FOR SALE section for more info >>.

I am buying Rick D's Moon Buggy that he won with this year. I got a killer deal on it just this week! I've been keeping my eyes open for a good lightweight low center of gravity moon buggy and I knew this fall/winter would be the best time to get one since the pro's would be selling off their current year buggies to build the next years model. So I couldn't pass up the opportunity when Rick D. decided to sell his awesome crawler! Here are a few shots of the new 2200lb comp buggy.

Best of luck Shawn!!!! The TLC world will surely miss you, with your progressive out side the box thinking with your 80 you have set the bar high.

Thank you and
Cheers!!!

Shawn, I vote for removeable too.

Good luck with the sale and buggy venture.

Shawn, I'll still be poking questions at you 80 or not. Best of luck with the rock crawling competitions. Look forward to hearing about your success on the rocks.

Now who's gonna buy that beast
