I checked the header and its a victim of rust through in one spot so should I go back to the stock or buy a new headr system? I was hopeing it was good but nope,in a way it's good start from scratch with everything new .it's using a weber carb. It's a shame because I saw this vehicle back when I owned mine and before it was parked outside for ten years and it was in nice shape.field storage is not good.Anything thin or sheet is shot or suspect.my buddy was fair though,he said look it over real good THEN we'll talk about price.the major stuff is good but if I had money I'd buy a tub and be done.I'll have to do the sheet work myself though.

If I remember right, Jim C. is a big fan of the stock manifold for its 'quiet simplicity,' and Mark prefers the headers for the performance and because you can (usually) repair them.

I have the worst header available on mine and it had a ton of leaks. It was my first welding project and now it leaks a lot less than it did. Depending on your situation, you might just patch the one you've got and get another couple years out of it. If you want to go stock--best of luck finding an affordable manifold that's in good shape.

I have the old manifold and -it doesn't have a crack in it!I could also probably repair the header,It's the two piece one ,I think it's a specter , I would have to cut back an inch or so and reweld the flange on, but I'll probably bite the bullet and buy the whole system new-about $808.00- if I've figured spectre's prices right .As far as the stock set up,it's hard to get all the stock parts together from them, some stuff is not in stock, some you have to get used etc. etc .The header system is all available, all new but pricey!I COULD get the major components[flange, donut stk.exh. pipe, muffler, and, tailpipe]for a" 74" system,[Mine is a "75"],and buy the hangers and clamps etc. from local sources, and for the life of me ,I can't see why I couldn't make it work for about $250.00,However,I like to help out that straight 6 as much as possible.I might add that MY wife loves a landcruiser and has none of the usual hang-ups with putting dollars out for it and that is a big +!
