Hey Ya'll
We have a 2015 LX570 with 17K miles that totally stock. It has the Dunlop OEM tires and has never been in an accident. There is excessive play with the steering whether going 30 or 60mph. I am planning in replacing the tires and checking the alignment. Before doing that I want to see if anyone else has experienced this and what the solution was. Maybe its better to have the dealer check out the vehicle before doing the above. It seems something in the steering column is loose or not tight enough. It is a BEAUTIFUL vehicle besides this issue. I appreciate any information you can share.

You're under warranty, dealer service is your first step. Interestingly, my 11 has an entry in the Lexus service history suggesting something was done with the steering column but doesn't provide any specifics. I plan to ask the svc manager next time I'm there about it to see if I can get more info on what specifically was done.

So...the dealer said the alignment, drive, wheel play and everything else checked out great. I'm replacing the tires and if it still drifts or has excessive play then it's just operator error and I be crazy. I'm replacing the Dunlops with Pirelli Verde All Season Plus. My wife says no to big boys tires like on my 80 ;)

The Pirelli Verde's are on the LX and the Mrs. is happy with them, of course she was ok with the Dunlops too. Perhaps it's best if she only drives her car for now. They look great and she says they're grippy in the snow.
