G'day Spot,
I don't suppose that technical data you have found has a wiring schematic for the army modifications does it? I am specifically looking for the wiring for the lighting system.
Cheers.
Pat
Hi Pat,
The army wiring in mine is all their and working.
What did you need to know, i may be able to help.
Cheers.

Been doing a bit more on the winch. Stripped it all down and repainted it.
Also fitted new bearings and seals to the worm.
Have the bearing and seals for the pillow block, and a set for the Pto case.
Wile it was apart i did what a nother mudder did and fitted grease nipples to the end bush, the drum and the engaument leaver.

I do like what your have do to the old gal. On the winch, do you know if Toyota had different year models for winches in the time span when they made them or were they one fits all other than possibly the gears being changed. Been coinciding a winch for my rig but PTOs are being sold here for about $2,000 - $3,000 complete and working.
Nice work.

Thats come out looking really good! Make sure you get some canvas dressing on it as soon as you can. mine has faded heaps over the last few months.

A few people say that this canvas fades fairly fast. What brand is the dressing you talk about?. I got enough canvas to have a nother one made like yours with clears and this one onley goes on for a displays.

Hi Feed, Good to here from you again. I am nearly finished the Army, just the bulbar and fit the winch. I got a new job in the NT as from last week, so I may have to drive it up here,2700km to finish it. Be a good run for it. A 1955Cat. I done some repairs on our friends D4 6U. He was having trobble with his pilot motor, but I got it going, first pull.

I am back again for a few weeks. Got the winch bolted on and took other peoples advice and put grease nipples in a few plases. I hope this stopes it sizeing up like it was. I also need a roll pin to replace th drill bit. I got to assemble the pto gearbox next.

Aussie very nice mate well done
I spotted a very clean ex army hj47 cruising north through Grafton last week. I caught me by surprise because I thought it was a 110 landy until it got close and then I released what it was nearly snapping my neck trying to get a better look at it.

Great looking rig there mate, it's great to see all the Troopy's here on Mud and all of the great people who own them and all the help that is offered. Should be starting my project next year and I have gotten a lot of ideas from threads like this. Thanks for sharing, Cheers, Geoff.

Wow mate..Your Ex army HJ47 is a beauty!:)

Can any of you guys give me a history Lesson or some info on these Special Army HJ47's..Please??

What are they based on and what mods did they come with for the Australian Army? Were they Built In Australia?

Would they be the Rarest "FJ40" series in Australia?;)
