Can you make it an option to have the hazard button mod or not? Would rather not have an extra piece missing because I haven't done that mod.

It makes it sucky to control inventory for two parts of a small change. I could easily over produce for one while under producing for another and be stuck because I guessed wrong. But making a small plate that bolts into the clamshell that is “button dependent” is a very inexpensive alternative and an easy remedy.

Then why not make it work with the stock switch only? Those few who have done the mod can cut their aftermarket clamshell cover to fit their mod.

Because the folks that make products for typically don’t have the means to do that. Or else they’d just make their own clamshell 😜

If they have the means to mod their hazard switch (for whatever reason) then they can use the same file to cut a hole in this new clamshell that they used in their old one.

I'm disappointed, because that missing material would bug the s*** out of me, whether I had the mod or not. Was looking forward to purchasing this.

Pretty cool. I like that I could put a little magnet on there and that would keep my keychains/rings from jingling all around when offroading. Perhaps that's just me that hates when the keys keep hitting my knees?

So for everything else this solves...that’s the deal breaker? 😳

The only problem this solves (right now) is the clamshell rattling because the standoffs have broken. Mine isn't broken *yet* so for me, yeah. I drive my truck a ton, and that extra hole would drive me nuts.

It’s a small notch not an extra hole. I drove my 60s for over tens years straight as my DD. I can honestly say, before I started this project, I would not have been able to tell you if my hazard switch was horizontal or not. I don’t even think I ever used it 🤔

I'm in either way, but what about making a cutout/perforation for the mod? Can we find middle ground?

The reality is it’s not going to a be a cut out per se. What you see is the clamshell. What you don’t see is the other bits that attach to it.

The pushback about this particular notch is HIGHLY premature.

Maybe a secret compartment for those that don't have the mod.... for storing.... things...

Short of doing the search I was waiting to see someone mention what this haz switch mod is all about.

Extra speed options on the wiper motor.

I was drawing a blank until you said that. I remember reading that thread now

BTW, you can do that mod and retain the factory hazard light, so keeping your clamshell with the OEM switch location wouldn't prevent people from doing that wiper mod.

Thread discussing for myself and others:

Can a square rubber grommet be made somehow fill that hole?
I think it’s great your making that clam shell.
I use my hazards but mine is still original switch.

It’ll be a specific little cover that gets screwed into place.
