Hey all. Well i have a 74 with the evap system. It has a tank built into the back of the center seat. At the bottom are four spouts with fuel lines attached. One line connects to a metal line that runs along the back of the passenger seat and then connects to the filler neck. The second spouts line also connects to a metal line that runs parralel to the first but this just ends. It seems like it should connect to something but im not sure. The third and fourth spout lines end just after about 5 or 6 inches of line. Now i havent taken the passenger and center seats out to get a look at the top of the fuel tank so i dont know if any of the lines connect there or not. According the my haynes manual for 1968-1982 one of these lines runs to what looks like the bottom of the carb. Its hard to tell with the diagram in the manual. I am also confused as to which system is in my rig. Haynes has a case storage system which depicts a thermal expansion tank in the center seat. However there is also the evap system that shows not tank inthe seat but has the square vs valve. Im using that diagram because i found the vs valve in my engine bay and its square not round. There was only one line coming off the vsv and it ran up and across then down the other side of the cowling or firewall and ended at nothing So im trying to figure out what goes to what. Any help would be appreciated. Wish i had pics for you all but i havent gotten the membership to do it yet. Ive been using my ih8mud app on my iphone and i ont think the option is there.

Ian

Sorry about the length

You don't need a membership to post pics. Upload them to a photo site like photobucket or flicker and then link them here. If you can't figure it out, send them to me and I'll post them up for you.......par4thecourse2@bellsouth.net
