I didn't call them Aussie mirrors




Ever since a set of the knock off taiwan mirrors fell off on the same day in the desert, I have been lusting for the oem version. These came today via JapanPost. Mucho improvement over the cheap plastic version.





The oem pads are NLA, so I used the set that came with the china junk. Anybody have a lead on the OEM parts?

FYI the mirror pad MAF sells for $18 bucks a fxxxin piece is not oem although they keep an oem part number.
I was a little disapointed in them for that nonsense.

They will work mind you but they are not OEM as they have them labeled.
They actually sent them USPS Priority and only charged the actual post office price so i have no complaints about the shipping.

They are the same pads in your pic up top.

Original pads are not available from Manafre or Akella(Toyota). Been back ordered at manafre for over 6 months. Akella is awesome to deal with. Does anybody have any pads for sale? (or know where to get them?

Mirrors are the bane of the 60 series world.

The Aussie people wait until they get enough orders to do a large run and then do them all at once, which means once a year or longer. I've been on a backorder list since January for Aussie mirrors.

My truck's not on the road yet, but I'm an American! And dang it, I want what I want and I want it now.

I don't think there's enough demand to keep an open production line on mirrors and pads.

If someone would be willing to go bankrupt - making good mirrors with decent availability would be an awesome contribution. I'd buy two for sure.

I just got a call from MAF last week that the pads i ordered 6 months ago were in.
I just got them in the mail. They are obvious aftermarket and not the OEM but they will work i suppose.

I am finding that amayama is very nice for the discontinued US market parts and obviously the non-US parts.

I doubt you can get gasket from amayama. Mirrors are still available from Toyota and they in stock at few a Toyota warehouses worldwide. However, the gasket is fully discontinued even in motherland Japan. So the only way to get the gasket is after market.

That's what I have on my 60, and they are great.
