So when do you want to get to work, Matt? ;D

You give me a few good days and I'll give you a truck to play and project with.

Major props to my cousin for helping me get this thing on and functioning.

I need to replace the passenger fender. I was drilling bondo on some of the spots. When I paint it I'll replace the fender.

This was a gift, I'm all for free!

I'd love to drill a hole or 6 in your truck!

Was sitting at a light and had the CEL come on. I pulled into a parking lot, put the 80 in park and the light went off. Hasn't come on since after 100 miles... Truck was running fine, no changes from what I can tell. Gauges looked good.

Strange.

I went with the Pontiac GTP hood vents, used this guys thread as a basis for my project. My 80 often idles for long periods of time on the trail and and I wanted a better way to vent the temps under the hood and these served the purpose and almost look like they could be factory. Last time we measured the temps while on the trail it dropped the temps under the hood 13 degrees with the GTP vents and another member with the runcool louvers was 18 degrees lower than a factory 80 with no vents. It was more of a project than I planned for but like most projects I went off and did a lot more than planned basically took the whole frontend sheet metal off did some undercoating painting and fixed a leak on pass pillar. A tree limb tore the rivets of the snorkel mount on the pillar so I put rivnuts and a lot of silicone to seal and sturdy it up :)

I've got a scan gauge if you want to come by and see if we can pull a code.

I'm an ob1 rig. I need to check into a scanner tool of sorts for it if there is one.

Thanks!

I'll be reading this tonight at work!

Little update, after talking to Paul (I'd be lost without this man's knowledge) I have a thermostat and gasket on order. Hopefully that will fix my temp readings and help with fuel consumption. The truck is running very rich.

While I'm in there I'm flushing the radiator and lines, replacing a few hoses, spark plugs, cap, rotor, and wires.

Probably going back with oem parts.

I'll post up pictures and such once I get all the desired parts in and have a moment. Hoping to accomplish this toward the end of the month.
