Thought i would post up a quick review of the saddle bags that Equipt is offering: Saddle Bag, Grey

I purchased a set of these and they arrived quickly!

They are very well constructed and the color is nice.

I quickly found out that, unless i totally missed something, the way that the strap goes across the center console just doesn't work. First, it allows the bags to slide, side to side. So for example, if you put a flash light in the driver's side bag, it will pull the bag on the passenger side up and onto the console. There's really nothing holding them in place. Also, the straps just didn't seem to tuck away as nice as in the picture.

The more i thought about it i realized, in my case, i might just take advantage of some spare velcro that i had in the toolbox and the velcro on the back of the bags.

I had some leftover velcro that i used to use on LiPo battery packs for my RC crawler. I noticed the nice empty space on the side of the center console and figured it's not permanent if i don't like it.

So i applied the velcro, took the straps off the bags and stuck them in place. Works great. I probably could of used some velcro on two points on each bag for a good, secure install, but this works just fine.

Since there isn't a lot of room there, and your knee/leg is there when driving, they work great, but it's not perfect. I know a lot of things are a compromise. So out of a 10, i would rate these an 8!

Now if someone would just figure out how to prevent anything falling between the DS seat and console from getting into the black hole in the carpet under the DS seat...

No kidding!! What a pain in the arse! I almost have lost something into that hole and i thought the only way to get anything out of there would be to remove the seat! What a design flaw.

I have actually lost things in that hole (my house keys, my FOB) and the only way to retrieve them is to remove the seat. PITA

Well, if it was a Pinto, yeah I would.

It's not like you can see it... Plus, if you ever start removing interior panels (like on the door), you discover the LC adn LX is practically built of foam! (OK, exaggerating, but there's a heck of a lot of foam in the doors). ;)

I second the drop stop. Great idea for a product that took a surprisingly long time to arrive. Only issue I have with them is that they ride up over time and have to be pushed back down into the gap, but overall a great product.

You could hang one on a $40 Yeti bucket.

I'm really shocked at the $30 sticker price for an Escape Gear product.
Did you expect them to be more or less expensive?

I can't believe they registered this phrase:

What's in YOUR crack?®
