i have heard that a cold air intake will produce mad jumps in HP yo. much props.

actually, i second what junk said. read EVRYTHING, EVERYWHERE, then posts your questions.

welcome aboard.

So it's time to run with the BIG dogs - er, maniacs.

Kuzuma turbo, high flow cat, cat back, and flowmaster. Maybe some chrome pipe tips, too.

What about lowering this ride? Possibilites are mind boogling.

I heard jet fuel increases horsepower.

issac,

It seems the boys are having a little fun at your expense.

The US got only 1 engine in the FZJ80 series (1993 to 1997). This is the only vehicle that received the 1FZ-FE engine. The engine can handle a lot more HP than it produces in stock form. Popular options are the TRD supercharger (available from Cruiserdan and many other Toyota dealers. There are a few turbo-charged vehicles using the Safari turbo and a few with custom turbo jobs. There were some recent threads concerning the turbo options.

Slee offroad seems to be the best source of information for turbochargers but I would suggest that you contact them ONLY if you are a serious buyer. Since you are 16 and this is your first vehicle you are probably fantacizing about what you might be able to do someday. If that's the case then READ and don't waste their time. If you've got an extra $6,000+ and it's burning a hole in your pocket then I'm sure Christo will be happy to add a turbo to your '96.

The 1FZ-FE engine can also be improved with some of the normal hot-rodding techniques like ported and polished ports on the head and an over-bore to increase displacement to 4.7L. There are few, if any, aftermarket performance options for things like intake manifolds and headers. The stock intakes and exhaust manifolds are very efficient.

A Borla or other high performance exhaust system might buy you a few HP at a reasonable cost.

no no no no the Jet fuel only works in diesel engines

i have had a few friends that (borrow a few gallons here and there to put in their trucks) JP8 has a pretty good kick to it.....

rember folks jet fuel is basicly a mix of kerosene and diesel... (i'm a crewchief not a fuels tech)
