When pulling out in first, I have to take it easy. Once the rpms begin to increase the knocking goes away. As I shift higher its the same thing. Im used to it stalling when the rpms are too low. The good thing is that in the mid rpm range (hwy) driving I can floor it with out the knocking sound... any suggestions?
 
Adjust the timing or switch to higher octane gas.

Knock (per the normal definition) is not a common low rpm problem. It's more likely to happen at mid to high rpms due to excess timing advance (exacerbated by low octane fuel, overly hot spark plugs, carbon build up, etc., etc.).

Stalling at low rpms? How low? The 2F is a damn torquey engine, it rivals a diesel for low rpm torque. Mine will happily chug along at 5-600 rpm. On flat ground, I can let the clutch out at idle and not kill it.

My bet is you have a vacuum leak, and possibly other fundamental maintenance issues.

To reduce knocking you would retard the timing. If you're knocking at factory timing and at low RPM at that, that tells me there might be another issue. Perhaps too much carbon buildup in the combustion chambers (thanks to the EGR and PCV systems). That's just one suggestion though.

If you haven't done it before, you might want to do the Seafoam treatment. Last time I did it on my 62 I blew out a ton of carbon. Be warned though, you'll need new spark plugs after the Seafoam treatment. It fouls them up something awful.

I'm used to other cars stalling. My 60 just knocks, but no stall, at low rpm when trying to go up a driveway from a full stop.
I will check the timing and go high octane. And the last will be a seafoam treatment just before a complete tune up.
