my 100 has 233k thinking about pouring in some treatment for the engine block and fuel system cleaner. Is this a no no or a good idea. Not sure if anyone has had any noticeable results from this or problems.

I have run liqimoly engine treatment and flushes through our Volvo xc70 and seen positive results. Have not put it in the LX yet but did have an engine flush planned in the near future.

I am of the opinion that if you need a additive then you need to use a different motor oil.
If you need a fuel injector cleaner, then you need to use different fuel.

High quality fluids do not need any additives, period the end. If you have a problem that magic in a bottle can fix, that is diffferent than adding a additive to better the performance of your motor oil.
Some additives can actually zero out the built in additives in your lubricant.
Some good reading.

Buying a used car and adding fuel injector cleaner is not a bad idea, but as long as you use a Top Tier fuel no injector cleaners will ever be needed.
When I buy a used car I always add a can of Seafoam to the gas tank, run it until the low fuel light comes on, then use only Top Tier fuels from then on.
