Need some advice on a strong smell of gas in the vehicle after working it pretty good on the trails. i have searched youtube and ih8mud and found that it could be caused from vapor lock. CEL diagnostic is showing potential EVAP issues. I turned it off for about an hour and it seemed to cure the smell. But curious if anyone else has had this issue and what resolved it? I have found some potential things to look at updating are:

1. EVAP lines
2. New Charcoal canister

Haven't tried either, just looking for some input on other's experiences and what I should start digging into first.

Thanks for this! Sounds like first step will be the charcoal canister. I’ll be addressing that asap.

Have you tried changing your gas cap? Much cheaper place to start, especially if it’s not OEM.

Hey-did you end up finding the issue? Did you replace the canister? I'm having similar troubleshooting issues

Mine had a strong gas smell which was cured with new injectors. The gaskets appeared to be original and were hard as a rock. I had a leak in one, and after replacing them all the gas smell went away too. May not be your issue, but the gasket set is cheap and they probably need replacing anyway.

Second on the injector seals. I bumped an injector at some point during my monthly check and created a small fuel leak. Noticed the smell. Just rotated the injector a bit to reseat and the issue was solved. Don’t want fuel leaking on a hot engine!
