Hey folks. In lieu of a dula battery set-up, I decided to wire my Engel 35 directly to an Optima Blue Top Deep Cycle D900M Battery (9016-103 SC34DM). I clipped the 12 Volt cigarette lighter adaptor off, wired a 10A blade fuse for the pos. connectioin. But here's the kicker: nothing happens when I connect the wires to the battery posts. The battery is 100% charged. The polarity is right. When I plug the fridge into a conventional outlet it works fine. I'm completely confused. Help please. I've wasted a whole weekend screwing around with this thing!

Thanks in advance, chris

hehehe...i deserve demeaning. I uhm forgot to check the fuse on the back of the engel---I forgot it was there. Doh. Thanks for your help. Mystery solved.

You don't mention was gauge wire you used to do your wiring but if you attach an amp meter you will see that less than 10g wire =3-5 amp draw but 10g will drop your draw to less than 1amp
that makes a huge difference in your battery life!

My digital camera recently bit it, so I can't post pics right now. Really, the set-up is so basic: I used the power cord from the Engel, wired a 10 Amp fuse into the + conntection and wired to the battery. That's it.

What are you talking? A smaller size wire will just restrict the current to the point that the wire heats up and the fridge doesn't work very well since it can't get enough power. THIS IS BAD!

I just finished a project where I brought power via 2 AWG wire to the back of the 80.
The 2G goes into a fuse box which has 6 30AMP positions.
My plan is to connect the Angel from the fuse box. What Gage wires do I need from the fuse box? Providing that electricity already travel on the 2 AWG wires from the front of the vehicle?
