I was in Chama for a couple days last week for Danise and my 15th anniversary. We went snowmobiling around Cumbres pass. On the way back to Chama, I pulled off on the entrance to Trujillo Meadows where it had been bladed/plowed wide enough for vehicles to park for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, etc. I decided to put the truck in 4 LO and drive through the snow along the edge of the bladed area. BIG mistake. It was too deep and I got stuck. The snow was so deep on the side of the parking area that I got high centered and had no traction to go forward or backward. The center diff was locked, the rear diff was locked. I tried digging out tracks for the tires but the truck was hung up on the underbelly on snow/ice.
I finally had to get help from both a Chevy and Super Duty Ford to pull me out in a daisy chain train arrangement. The Chevy tried first but couldn't get enough traction on the packed/bladed snow/ice and he didn't think to put it in 4 LO before trying to pull me. Then the Ford hooked to the front of the Chevy and they were finally able to get me out.
I don't have any photos of me stuck but I'll try to get some soon of the snow where I was stuck after I got pulled out.
