hey y'all - was looking at the plug on the steering column I purchased and the wires should just match up ... but I noticed a difference on the wire colors that are going into the plug which connects to harness.
Ultimately Toyota and Haynes both have the White/Blue wire in their schematic, anyways I'm not going to worry about it - ill just mark it and not forgot.

question - these are my Hazard wires / plug correct? Little help on how to go about reconnecting that - PO had tried to route to steering column somehow but since im going back to earlier column I have to route to original site. Anyways, im looking at my diagram and am seeing it should go to a switch. does anyone have a pic for me of that original switch set up?

Also, is that 6-prong connector in the pic my windshield wiper motor wires/plug or my front heater wires/plug?
I think its the windshield wiper motor but I haven't traced it yet and figured I might just ask real quick

I had similar - but with an engine swap - and went Painless. Not truly painless, but more like dull headache than migraine.

May be overkill for what you need to get sorted out however.
I have to second that emotion. I just re-wired my 40 using KW, though I wish I'd used Painless as they are about 30 minutes away and have better instructions. My situation wasn't near that bad, but everything works better than the past 20+ years, so that's good. Also agree with the comment about using the stock wire colors from Coolerman if you decide to rebuild. I had to splice in one longer wire for back-up lights and every now and then I look at it like, "What the @#$% is that?" Bear in mind I finished 2 days ago, ha-ha...

This has probably been covered and you probably know it anyway, BUT one of the best bits of info I read somewhere here--don't remember from who; apologies--is to buy a good set of wire strippers. I picked up a very adequate set at Home Despot (not sic) for about 14 bucks and every day I was glad to have them. Also, and I know this came through Coolerman (and others) but make sure your ground connections are muy bueno. Before I started my big adventure I truly had no idea how important that is...good luck.

anyone know if that connector with the green ones is for sure my hazard? and also anyone got a pic of their orig set hazard switch set up? im working out how to reconnect ... much appreciated .. refer to post 61

The connector with the green wires with stripes is for the hazard switch. I do not have a picture of a 76 hazard switch. I believe it is a 84332-60020, you can google it.

I have another one for you guys ....

I noticed a couple wires cut here near the fuse box

this Green/Red one I found cut goes to my cooling fan timer which I don’t think I have I took a pic of the “area” in engine bay I followed on diagram to be.

and this red/black one I found cut seems to just need to be reconnected to this opposing side, but it’s length leads me to believe maybe not...thoughts? It goes to whatever this thing with the metal end is ... still figuring what that is too

You may find that green/red wire also feeds power to the hazard lights. That metal thing is the back light bulb holder for the headlight switch.

Well in my diagram I followed the Green/Red from the fuse box - it came to Fan Cooling Timer ... which I’m not even sure I have. I took a pic of something missing in engine bay near my radiator that looked like a sensor sender of some kind

This solid red from fuse box is spliced together with this other red/black .... ideas on what that is for?

Working with ToyotaMatt on some wiring needs and we are determining that my vehicle is actually Non-USA spec (global spec of some sort). Specifically - here’s my hazard switch coming from harness (petty unmolested looked and in good shape)...does this indicate anything for some of you vets?

Does anyone have any input on my vehicle background. Trying to look for correct wiring diagram for myself and just for informational purposes moving forward. I had no idea it was non-USA considering is has this sticker inside door frame saying “conforms to USEPA Standards to 1977”

Looking at my igniter wiring to coil / to distributor ...
In diagram has Red but mine is Black - that looks fine, but then I’m looking for the last wire - missing one I believe. Any help on that from my pic/diagram portion?

Probably missing my throttle switch? - how could I check that —meaning where is that located with my eyes?

Coolant temp sender mounted in the heater return port. Should be in the head. Temp sender wire usually comes through the firewall just above the rear of the cylinder head. Do you have a heater hooked up and if so how? (Oh, this is a non-USA vehicle.) Do you have the water/coolant temp sender in the correct location as well?

I always thought I was pretty decent with my crimping but I never knew about a "bell-mouth". Well I just got better. This kind of info just wasn't readily available back when I initially repaired my mildly hacked harness. Great info Matt!
