I'm looking at the Lexus service history for this LX470 and it has had electric problems ever since 40k miles. The owner took it to the dealer meticulously for maintenance - so often it almost seems like a lemon. I left out the other stuff but only included the "electric issues" below. This will be my wife's car taking our baby to daycare so I do not want her to be stranded.
Please advise if this is a car that is to be avoided or if the electric issue seems to have been fixed:

Just because the record of problems ends with a new battery in '12 doesn't necessarily mean the problem ended. The owner could have given up on Lexus and tried other service places. I would consider purchase ONLY if you can definitely verify the problem has been fixed. Otherwise, for sure avoid this one if you don't want to be stranded with a dead battery!

Thanks for the feedback guys! You guys are right, in fact based on Carfax record, the frustrated owner traded in the vehicle to BMW days after that 02/21/2012 service. The dealerships tried to sell it and it looks like the problem re-occurred 5/11/2012 above - although it is possible that is due to them not driving it and the car sitting on their lot. Later, the car has been used in dealerships for the next 20k miles with no more Lexus service records. This could mean they used it for loaner purposes or personal use (Title issued or updated Dealer took title of this vehicle while it was in inventory). There has been 20k miles in the dealership possession since over 2 years.

This could mean good or bad. Good in that the dealer liked it so much they kept it on their own for these 2 years (20k in miles shows that is being used just fine). Bad in that they kept it for their own use because the car needs constant maintenance?

The car looks clean on the outside but the safe bet is to avoid it. I'm also 5 hours away so I do not have ability to see it in person or know a trusted local mechanic (not that he can diagnose electric problems in a day if Lexus mechanics can't after 5 yrs)

sigh, i guess my search for LX continues :(

I'd run from that one. Electrical issues are not common on these unless neglected or crashed. Something's not right and there are plenty of others out there to pick from (well, sort of).

Thanks for the encouragement Chris. I wish there are "plenty" others but it's tough to find one that has clear title and is clean AND white. I will try to be patient but my wife is going back to work from maternity leave soon so our search time is limited.

all my cars are white so i have to get white unfortunately :D
