As you can see in the picture, apart from having the intercooler installed on the front, has installed an electric-fan in the front of radiator, my question is: "It is necessary to install the electric-fan "???

Thanks!

probably not necessary, but it may increase the air condition efficiency and would probably also help with radiator cooling at low speeds

The electric fan was in front of the radiator long before the intercooler came along. As you may know the 2lte engine has troubles staying cool. The fan is toggle switched from the cab and was used for slow wheeling and long steep hills. You do not usually need a aux electric fan when you install a intercooler. The fan does pull lots of air through the intercooler making it somewhat efficient at very slow speeds though. The fan also spins at faster driving speeds just by air movement with out it being toggled on. It seems to work great. From the turbo outlet pipe to the intake manifold I see a 150+ degree Fahrenheit drop. Not bad in my books. Here are some pics of the build.

Take care

looks like a clean installation. does the front grill still fit? or do you plan to do something different?

Lulo, I think it is good there if you have the switch. No problem with it at all. Next time try water/air intercooler - very nice.

lshobie i'am really interested in the water/air cooler. How dose yours work?? Some pics would be great. Is it better then your air to air cooler??

Thanks take care.

Hey lulo. The intercooler I used was from Vibrant Performance::.. The model number is VIB12800. A very tough intercooler and made well not like the ebay junk. The only down fall was there is no mounting tabs on the cooler you need to weld them on or use a pressure fit like I did. The pipe is 2.5 inch mandrel bent exhaust pipe and I used two J pipes for all the bends.
Total cost of the build was around $400 Canadian, paint ,clamps, silicone elbows ect.

Take care
