Hey Southboston,

I'm getting from your response that perhaps 18 months isn't how this always happens, so how many of these shipments have you participated in, and whats the real average time frame for delivery?

What happened to make one shipment go for 18 months? Was it just a big order? Was it corrupt custom officers? What are the wild cards with doing this? I have to admit, Pakistan isn't the most assuring place to send money to , it seems the people with the guns do whatever they want to, with no accountability. I can see there is risk, I'm just trying to asses how much, and what I can expect if I go in on the next order.

I don't have all the details of that order, I just know that from other posts in a different thread that Grant5127 has an axe to grind with Ehsan. Maybe he can elaborate??

Ehsan and his crew in Pakistan are upstanding guys and you'll have no worries that your money is safe and well spent on a great product.

I've been in on a couple of these group orders and they seem to average 6 to 12 months. A long time to wait, but realize that these products are all hand made and customs and shipping takes time. The order that took 18 months took that long because it was damaged in shipping. It was sent via sea freight and was water damaged. Tops had to be re-made and re-shipped. Most group orders are now being done via air. Faster and safer. If you want to see one of Ehsans tops, I have one on my 73 FJ40 as do a few other people in the Rising Sun Club. Come to a meeting or a trail run with us sometime and bring your 40, looks like a nice one.

The guy who is organizing it is planning on importing tops and parts for direct sale, but that isn't happening yet. This order will be run as a group order the same as ours.

Not exactly like your order. It is going to Canada, so it will be double the duty fees. I have yet to see prices or anything stating that this is just a "normal" group order. I have a funny feeling that this deal could leave a sour impression on ordering tops in the future. I hope I am wrong.

Just curious, what will be the approx. total for you guys' 7 window tops and bows delivered to your door?

$825.00 + paypal fees + shipping to your door.

Works out be $350 for the top + 325 for the bows + $150 for air shipping to Boston.

I ended up putting my Olive Drab Canvas Top 4 sale here on mud.

I was surprised it took me as long as it did to find a buyer.

Alas, I did find one...

Now we are both waiting to see if top & bows make it stateside !;p

As hard as it is to find the bows I decided to keep them & I was wanting to order the American Made top that was featured in the vendor section.

Now these guys have quit producing tops!

So now I've got bows on order...no top...and am waiting on other guys to start making again!

However, since my truck is still in approx. 1000 pieces no sweat.
