Ebay Snatch Blocks.... Anyone using them?

Would a set of these be fine for lite use on my 80?
 
If you actually use it "lightly" yes.

Problem is, most folks will not.

I would question the seller about the material used for the pulley/sheave (steel/aluminum alloy)?

It looks like it's about 4-1/2 to 5" in diameter (which is good).

I don't see any grease fittings on it and the ad doesn't say if it is bronze bushed (probably not).

Not saying it's a bad product....but do "honestly" evaluate how you would use it. A snatch block can be subjected to tremendous loads...and any winching exercise can be dangerous.

If there is one aspect of "off-roading" that I see people get too "lax" about...it is their safety concerning winching techniques and equipment.
 
If you want to compare these to others, keep in mind that -assuming we can even trust that figure- the 20,000 lbs is very likely to be the failure load, not working load. Then again, that's probably the case with most advertised specs...
Also, 5/8" is more than 10mm, so that's a bit inconsistent with the other dimensions?
