Just a heads up on this FJ62 Ebay auction
1988 Toyota : Land Cruiser
This truck was listed on Craigslist for a few weeks back in March and April. Initially the asking price was $5,000 but ended up at $3,700 before the truck got hit. Thetaxmonkey and I were looking into the LC when it was hit from behind while parked on the side of the road.
In correspondence with the guy selling it we were told that because he only for $1,500 from his insurance he felt a fair price for a damage LC (sight unseen and without information on the condition of the frame) was $3,500. Since he was trolling for his original price (asking + insurance) our conversation did not continue further. I believe the truck was totalled and he did a buy back from his insurance. Additionally, the pricing for work done on the auction is inflated from what he listed on craigslist.
Might be a good deal for someone local buying for a parts truck. If you're watching or bidding, do it with eyes wide open.
