Easy way to check for bent axle?

Anyone have any uber easy ways to check to see if a rear axle is bent? 1992 FJ80 with semi-floating rear end and drum brakes.

do you mean twisted? Just don't see how an axle could bend inside the housing.

Might be twisted, might be that the outer flange is out of whack. Just looking for a possible vibration producing site...

Pull the drum and fit a dial indicator to the drum mounting face of the flange and check the run-out.
