My question, again, wasn't about good vs bad or "better/best"... It was trying to identify specific things to be aware of that might make specific mods difficult. The thing that triggered this thhinking was when I went on Crutchfield to see what radios were available to put in a truck I was looking at that has factory nav... They said they do not recommend attempting that swap. Then I found the same info here on mud.

So far this thread has been great at answering my questions....

I believe that the factory nav system is the only major difference that is difficult to overcome. Pretty much everything else can be dealt with or swapped out to new and improved with little difficulty.
