Just got off the trail. EPIC is all you can really say to describe the Dusy.

Very nice pics! Any rain, carnage, trees across the trail?

Very nice pics! Any rain, carnage, trees across the trail?

Moderate amounts of carnage, very litle rain (and hail), and no trees across the road.

I broke 2 upper rear control arms, panhard bracket sheared, toasted rear driveshaft, lots of crumpled body panels (fits with the rest of the "Raisin", as Cdan likes to call my rig), gas tank damage, bent tie rod. That's just my rig.

A spring hanger on a 62, a few more body panels, a couple more tie rod ends, a brake line, and a rear elocker were the only other casualties.

I'll be honest with ya, certain sections of the trail looked like a tornado went through. It was impressive to see the power. Thank you very much to you and the rest of the Fresno crew for clearing out the trees.

Most of my pics are at home on my "good" camera. Here are some more iPhone pics.

I will say that this trail is way more unforgiving than the Rubicon. The Dusy just keeps coming and coming relentless in its intensity. Just when you want a break, it hits you even harder demanding more and more energy, physical and mental, to get through.

It was interesting: the Jeep groups in front and behind us were already pounding beer by 10am. We have a strict rule that alcohol doesn't come out until we are at camp, parked, keys out of truck. Lo and behold we heard the Life Flight chopper and 2M chatter about getting someone out of Ershim. The Dusy was difficult enough sober; i couldn't imagine it under the influence.

Awesome time on the Dusy. Ed-you guys are amazing and the amount of work it must have taken to clear all those trees is staggering. Many thanks from me and the others from this past weekend.

3 days of the most epic 4 wheeling anywhere. Relentless is the right word. Hour after hour, day after day, there is just more...incredible.

I had the most amazing run up Thompson. Usually that's a couple of hours by itself and I ran from the hard right turn at the bottom(Boots4 brake line hill) to the top in about 15 minutes. It was weird, but I was afraid to stop. Not bragging, just saying it was unusual at least for me. Last time up that I bashed the body, winched twice and nearly flipped the truck. Another year I had an engine fire. It played nice for a change.

There was more traffic this year, at least the first 2 days. Then we outran the Jeeps and had the trail alone. Onur is right though, there was some serious on-trail drinking going on in the Jeep run ahead of us. I was glad to pass them by.

If you find out what happened that prompted the life flight out of Ershim, I'd like to know. We we camped about an hour up the trail from Ershim but heard the chopper come in and some of the radio traffic.

Already looking forward to next year.

BTW-Nice new outhouse at Ershim, but no chance to test drive it!

We named the stretch North of Lakecamp Lake "Tornado Alley".

I agree with your comparison of Dusy and Rubicon. We've had many people say similar things too.

Our club also keeps the alcohol put away until finished operating equipment and rigs for the day.

I will ask the ranger about the Life flight, havn't heard anything yet.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

I don't have a very good camera either, but it's better than no pics.
