My front right shock is busted.

Can I replace the busted shock, or should I replace both of the front shock?

I know it is a dumb question, but I could use some help.

Finally, is it ok to put Bilsteins on the front and keep the stock ones on the rear? Or, should all the shocks be the same brand?

As always, thanks for the help. I have replaced my brakes and did the 8 hour starter contact job using the instructions on this forum. That starter contact job was a freakin beast!

Best Cruiser forum on the Net!

Just replace the one, if the other is ok. 2 cents MIke

you should be ok, but why not do both? if one has failed the other has to be coming up soon, right?

I suppose there is some risk of altering vehicle dynamics; ideally you'd have components from the same brand on all four corners. I don't, however, think something as heavy as the cruiser would be affected that much. It's not a sports car.

If you need OEM Toyota shocks, I have four coming off my 2003 LC this weekend (OME going on) and they probably have less than 10,000 miles on them as I installed them about a year ago. PM me and we can sort something out. Better they go on your truck than sitting in my garage.

OEM shocks are stupid cheap. Replace both fronts for a little over 50 bucks...

Agreed. And I will make you a great deal on a full set of four.
